Berkshire Theatre Group presents the Tony Award-winning sweetheart musical Bells Are Ringing, featuring Tony and Drama Desk-Award nominated Kate Baldwin and Broadway and Television actor Graham Rowat, directed by BTG Alum, Ethan Heard. Opening Night is Saturday, July 11 at 8pm. Preview performances begin on Thursday, July 9 at 7pm and the production closes Sunday, July 26 at 2pm.

Bayou City Concert Musicals is back with a 2015-16 season full of fun and great music, starting with the delightful musical comedy Bells Are Ringing, a hilarious slice of the mid-Twentieth Century world lost to voice mail and texting, and rounded out by two cabaret evenings of the music of two giants of the Great American Songbook, Hoagy Carmichael and George Gershwin.

On Saturday May 23 actor/singer Bill A. Jones, known to thousands of cheering fans as Rod Remington of Fox TV's Glee, brought his one-man show Frank, Bobby & Me to the E-Spot Lounge at Vitello's in Studio City. This man is not only handsome with an affable charm onstage, but can truly sing these old standards with a smooth delivery and the fine easy-going style that they deserve. The packed SRO crowd would surely agree. Backed by three stellar musicians, musical director Paul McDonald at the keys, Steve Pemberton on drums and Kurt Smith on bass - known as Paul McDonald the A Players - for 90 minutes the 'joint was really jumpin' '.

Today in 2001, the first Broadway revival of Bells Are Ringing opened at the Plymouth Theatre (now the Gerald Shoenfeld Theatre), where it ran for 68 performances. Bells Are Ringing is a musical with a book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green and music by Jule Styne. The story revolves around Ella, who works at an answering service and the characters that she meets there. The original Broadway production, directed by Jerome Robbins and choreographed by Robbins and Bob Fosse, opened on November 29, 1956 at the Shubert Theatre, where it ran for slightly more than two years, and starred Judy Holliday as Ella and Sydney Chaplin as Jeff Moss.
