Pasadena Playhouse (Sheldon Epps, Artistic Director, Brian Colburn, Managing Director, Tom Ware, Producing Director) announced casting today for VANITIES, A New Musical by Jack Heifner, with music and lyrics by David Kirshenbaum, directed by two-time Tony Award-winner Judith Ivey. Set to star are Lauren Kennedy (Spamalot, Side Show) as Mary, Sarah Stiles (Avenue Q, …Spelling Bee) as Joanne and Anneliese van der Pol (Beauty and the Beast, TV's 'That's So Raven') as Kathy. Preview performances begin on August 22 with the official press opening on August 29 at Pasadena Playhouse (39 S. El Molino Avenue).

SECRETS OF A SOCCER MOM, a new play by Kathleen Clark directed by two-time Tony Award winner Judith Ivey, will play its final performance on Sunday, May 4, 2008 after 69 regular and 17 preview performances. The show began previews on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the Snapple Theater Center (50th Street at Broadway) and opened on Wednesday, March 5, 2008. The production stars Caralyn Kozlowski, Nancy Ringham and Deborah Sonnenberg.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) announced a new Off-Broadway production of David Rabe's award winning drama Streamers, directed by Scott Ellis.

Davis respectively, to kick-off the spring soccer season.

The Cherry Lane Theatre announces that based on overwhelming critical accolades as well as audience response, performances of Edward Albee's The American Dream and The Sandbox have been extended until Saturday, May 17th. The production was originally scheduled to close April 19th. Additionally, Outer Critics Circle and Lortel nominated and 'Star Trek:Voayager' star Kate Mulgrew will be replacing Judith Ivey who aready had other commitments.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director; Ellen Richard,Executive Director) has announced the two plays to be presented as part of the company's sixth Second Stage Theatre Uptown Series this summer: Carly Mensch's Len, Asleep in Vinyl, directed by Jackson Gay, and Rajiv Joseph's Animals Out of Paper, directed by Giovanna Sardelli.

Before heading to Broadway, Mark Nadler will bring his one-man comedy-in-music adventure, Russian on the Side, to the Royal George Theatre Mainstage, 1641 North Halsted Street in Chicago, for a limited eight-week engagement, April 30 - June 15, 2008. On Monday, February 4 The Vineyard Theatre - where Edward Albee's Pulitzer Prize-winning play Three Tall Women debuted in 1994 - celebrated Albee's 50-year career as one of the world's leading dramatists, as he turns 80 during this theatrical season. Co-hosts for the evening were Tony Award-winners Tyne Daly and Bill Irwin plus international artist Eartha Kitt.
