The capital is never short of theatre temptations, whether big West End shows, epic dramas or bold fringe offerings. From two theatrical titans taking on Pinter to the RSC in London and an unusual dining experience, here are some of this month's most eye-catching openings. Shakespeare's Globe has announced full casting for Matthew Dunster's production of IMOGEN. Award-winning actor Maddy Hill, in the lead role of Imogen, is best known for the recurring role of Nancy Carter in EastEnders (BBC), for which she won Best Newcomer at the National Television Awards in 2015, and Best Newcomer in the British Soap Awards 2014, as well as being nominated for Best Newcomer at the TV Choice Awards 2014. Maddy will be joined by Jonathan McGuinness as Cymbeline, Ira Mandela Siobhan as Posthumus and Matthew Needham as Iachimo. Running from 17 September, Imogen is Shakespeare's Cymbeline renamed and reclaimed.

Ron Cook (Mr Selfridge, Henry V, King Lear, Hot Fuzz) as Sir Charles Gurney, Kathryn Drysdale (Suspects, Love's Labour's Lost, Tripping Over, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps) as Grace Shelley, Joshua McGuire (Privacy, Posh, About Time, Mr Turner) as Dinsdale Gurney and Anthony O'Donnell (The Captain of Kopenick, Skyfall, Matchpoint) as Daniel Tucker, join BAFTA winning James McAvoy, as Jack, the 14th Earl of Gurney, in the first West End revival of Peter Barnes' satirical comedy, The Ruling Class, directed by Jamie Lloyd, Artistic Director of Trafalgar Transformed. All the talk about this Richard III will be about Martin Freeman. It's unavoidable really. Well-known television star takes on one of the big Shakespearean roles and a role outside what might be seen as his comfort zone. Any review therefore will need to confront this head on.

Further to previous notices, producers today confirmed that From Here to Eternity will close on 29 March 2014 following a six month run at the Shaftesbury Theatre. ?From Here to Eternity is adapted from one of the greatest novels of the twentieth century, this gripping tale of illicit love and army life unites the writing talents of Tim Rice (lyrics), Stuart Brayson (music) and Bill Oakes (book). It marks Tim's first new stage musical for over ten years and Stuart's West End debut.

On Saturday at the Shaftesbury Theatre the Military Wives Choir shared the stage with the full company of From Here to Eternity to mark today's anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, an event integral to the plot of the musical. Introduced by Tim Rice, the choir of 36 joined the company for a moving curtain call rendition of Boys of '41 - the song in the show dedicated to the soldiers who lost their lives in the attack.
