Secondhand Lions springs to musical life in Seattle with a cast that includes Broadway stars Gregg Edelman, Mark Jacoby, Jason Danieley, Kevin Earley, Kendra Kassebaum, Jenny Powers, and A Christmas Story's Johnny Rabe as Walter, the show's young lead, alongside several of Seattle's favorite musical theater stars.

The full Bernstein score honors ON THE TOWN, not the truncated movie version, on stage with a great cast, stunning choreography and a fresh new approach under the artful hand of John Rando, director.

Barrington Stage Company, the award-winning theatre in downtown Pittsfield, MA, under the leadership of Julianne Boyd Artistic Director and Tristan Wilson Managing Director, presents the Bernstein/Comden/Green musical On the Town now through July 13 on the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage, 30 Union Street, Pittsfield. The shorthand response for why the original production of It's a Bird… It's a Plane… It's Superman only managed to eke out a three and a half month run on Broadway has traditionally been that the show opened during a newspaper strike.

Joining Edward Watts (Superman) in the New York City Center Encores! production of It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman was Jenny Powers as Lois Lane and David Pittu as the evil Dr. Sedgwick, along with Alli Mauzey, Adam Monley, James Saito and Will Swenson. Superman played at City Center for seven performances only - check out photos from the closing night after party below!

A human ball of silver glitter hanging from a cord is lowered above what looks like a bungalow-sized muffin top.  (It's supposed to represent a turtle shell.)  Before the glitter ball makes its landing the cover is removed to reveal what looks like a tribe of humanish amphibians bouncing on trampolines and twirling on the muffin/turtle's frame.  Shortly after, a sleazy-looking clown in a tropical shirt tosses a condom to a woman in the front row and says, 'Call me!'  Yes, dear readers, Cirque du Soleil is back in town.
