The Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs (MAC) is soliciting submissions for the 5th Annual Dottie Burman and John Wallowitch Songwriting Awards. The Submission Period runs from Sunday, September 1st through Monday, September 30th. Winners will receive a $500 cash prize, a certificate, and a performance of their song at the upcoming MAC event MAC presents They Write the Songs, to be held on November 17th at Engleman Recital Hall at Baruch College.

Three world premieres, seven productions in all, are scheduled for the 10th season at the Douglas. The works range from a new rock musical to a sweeping new drama to a masterful interpretation of the works of Beckett, plus the bonus option of The Second City's one-of-a-kind Christmas show. In addition, three Los Angeles solo artists will be presented in the popular DouglasPlus program, and will represent CTG in the Radar L.A. festival.

This week's feature is 'Seeing You There' by Adam Gwon. Tony-nominee Josh Young (Jesus Christ Superstar), who happens to be a co-founder of Cutting-Edge Composers, sang this at our first concert at the Laurie Beechman Theatre.

The show plays at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre (61 Christopher Street at 7th Ave) tonight, April 22nd at 9:30pm. The evening is curated and directed by Joshua W. Kelley, with music direction by Addison O'Donnell, and stage managed by Coleman Annison.

Ghostlight Records has announced the digital release of THE JOE ICONIS ROCK AND ROLL JAMBOREE today, April 16, 2013. The new album is a collection of songs performed by Joe and his merry band of musical theater misfits. On February 9 at their annual Gala, Newnan Theatre Company formally accepted the script for 'Flies at the Well,' to be performed in Newnan's historic courthouse.
