Yeehah! Birmingham's oldest Musical Theatre Company BMOS is celebrating its 130th anniversary - with a return to the stage at the New Alexandra Theatre. Birmingham Midland and Operatic Society, which launched in 1886, will bring a brand new production of Calamity Jane to the venue from Tuesday 14 to Saturday 18 June 2016.

dell'Arte Opera Ensemble, which offers role debut and training opportunities to emerging opera artists, celebrates its twelfth season of high-quality, affordable NYC performances with a Beaumarchais Trilogy featuring fully-staged productions of Il barbiere di Siviglia by Giovanni Paisiello, Le nozze di Figaro by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Rosina by Hiram Titus, and Les Belles et Les Beaus, a Beaumarchais Concert featuring excerpts of other settings of the Rosina/Figaro trilogy, including music of Rossini, Massenet, Milhaud, Corigliano, plus alternate arias from Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro not heard in the mainstage production. The Metamorphosis Chamber Orchestra led by Artistic Director Pierre Lidar, collaborates for the season.

On Thursday, February 26th, at 11am EST, Maestro Victor DeRenzi and principal artists from Sarasota Opera will present a live program of excerpts from this season's production of Verdi's Don Carlos on Classical WSMR 89.1 FM hosted by Russell Gant. Mr. Gant will interview Maestro DeRenzi about the upcoming production, which opens on Saturday, March 7th, as well as Sarasota Opera's ongoing Verdi Cycle.

Inspired by objects from National Museums Scotland's World Cultures Collection, acclaimed contemporary Australian artist Danie Mellor presents sculpture and work on paper that explores his own indigenous and European heritage. With works focusing on fauna, Aboriginal life and landscape, and science and exploration, alongside technical references to European art, Mellor's work is uniquely relevant to the breadth of National Museums Scotland's collections.
Presented by National Museums Scotland and the Edinburgh International Festival. With the support of Michael Reid, Sydney, Australia.
