The San Jose engagement of the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning musical JERSEY BOYS has broken the box office record at San Jose's Center for the Performing Arts, grossing $1,323,302 for the week ending July 20, 2014. This tops the previous record of $1,203,554 held by THE LION KING in 2006. The San Jose engagement of JERSEY BOYS was part of the Broadway San Jose series, a Nederlander Presentation.

Cast members of JERSEY BOYS paid tribute to the king of country music, GEORGE STRAIT, in the best way they knew how: by covering two of Strait's best-known hits.

The Second National Tour of Jersey Boys, the Tony, Grammy and Olivier Award-winning hit musical, will play its 1,000th performance at the Plaza Theater in El Paso, TX on Sunday, June 1 at 7:30pm, the final performance of the El Paso engagement. Following this historic performance, Jersey Boys will play an engagement at Bass Hall in Fort Worth, TX from June 3 - 15.

The Philadelphia return engagement ofJERSEY BOYS is now playing through January 5 at the Forrest Theatre. My first experience with JERSEY BOYS was the Broadway company's rousing performance at Broadway in Bryant Park last summer. After their fun, toe-tapping set, I was looking forward to seeing the 2nd National Tour company perform in Houston, TX. Last night, I took my seat for JERSEY BOYS anticipating hearing some timeless pop classics of yesteryear brought to dazzling life with an intriguing book that strings the hits together for a cohesive and moving story. However, after the 2 hour and 30 minute performance, I felt I was robbed of what should have been a completely entertaining and extravagant theatrical treat.
