Opera Star and Tony-Nominee Regina Resnik Dies at 90

Tony-nominee, opera star, and Metropolitan Opera legend Regina Resnik died last Thursday, August 8 in Manhattan. Her son confirmed to The New York Times that the cause of death was related to complications that arose after Resnik suffered a stroke. She was 90.

Focusing on exterior city billboards, covered and re-covered over time and transformed by the elements, these works capture the ever-changing layers of faded iconography that New Yorkers live amongst but rarely notice. The Billboard Papers represents Grey's first large-format exhibit.

The producers of I Forgive You, Ronald Reagan, the new play by John S. Anastasi, in which the present is on a collision course with the past, present the limited Off-Broadway run this summer. Directed by Charles Abbott, performances began at The Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Aves.) on Monday, July 15. Opening Night is set for tonight, Tuesday, July 30 at 7:00 p.m. The show is scheduled to play through August 25th.

HBO has announced that BD Wong, Denis O'Hare, Joel Grey and Stephen Spinella have joined the cast of Ryan Murphy's upcoming film adaptation of Larry Kramer's THE NORMAL HEART. The historic drama is scheduled to premiere on the cable network in 2014.
