Lookingglass Awarded Doris Duke Charitable Foundation Grant to Create 'Civic Practice Lab'

Lookingglass Theatre Company has been selected to receive a 37­-month grant of $155,000 from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation's Artist Residencies to Build Demand for the Arts Program. The purpose of the grant is to support an artist residency at Lookingglass Theatre Company to conduct a project to increase demand for the performing arts.

Lookingglass Theatre's Junior Board announces the 12th Annual Madhatter's Ball, 'The Madhatter's Speakeasy' to be held at Venue One, 1044 W. Randolph, tonight, June 1, 2013. The VIP reception begins at 8pm. The event is from 9pm-midnight with an after-party, location TBD, from 12am-2:00am.

Maryland Ensemble Theatre Announces 2013-14 Season

Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET) has announced its 2013-2014 mainstage season. MET's sixteenth mainstage season will run from September of 2013 through June of 2014 and will feature a British comic classic, an American masterpiece and several contemporary crowd pleasers. MET Artistic Director Tad Janes believes that each of the six mainstage shows in MET's upcoming season will help, 'build on the strong reputation we have earned over the past decade and a half as a destination for challenging, entertaining, professional theater.'

Lookingglass Theatre Company announces its 2013-2014 Season, opening with the World Premiere adaptation of Marguerite Duras' The North China Lover, written & directed by Ensemble Member Heidi Stillman. The season continues with The Little Prince directed by Ensemble Member David Catlin, adapted from Antoine de Saint-Exupery's beloved children's book by Rick Cummins and John Scoullar. Jessica Thebus will direct the World Premiere of Artistic Associate Sara Gmitter's In The Garden: A Darwinian Love Story to close out the Season.
