Bruce Norris Joins Steppenwolf Theatre Company Ensemble

The Steppenwolf Theatre Company Ensemble has announced its newest member, playwright Bruce Norris. Among his many accomplishments, Norris is the author of The Qualms, playing July 3 - August 31 in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre. Since 2000, Steppenwolf has produced seven of Norris's plays, including Clybourne Park and the world premieres of A Parallelogram, The Unmentionables, The Pain and the Itch, We All Went Down to Amsterdam, Purple Heart and The Infidel. Arts For All has announced this year's annual benefit concert at Joe's Pub on April 28th, hosted by Aaron Lazar, star of Sting's upcoming, new musical, The Last Ship, and directed by Alexander Gemignani, currently appearing in Violet on Broadway. The evening will feature performances by other Broadway performers, donating their time and talents to raise money and awareness for Arts For All's free arts programming with in-need children in all five boroughs of New York City. Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man is a new comedy beginning performances at The 777 Theatre (777 Eighth Avenue, between 47th and 48th Streets) on Wednesday, January 22nd. On Saturday, January 25th, Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man will hold a post-show talk-back with Dan Anderson and Maggie Berman, the authors of the international best-selling book on which the show is based. The talk-back, moderated by award-winning writer Michael Musto, will also feature playwright Matt Murphy and director Tim Drucker. This event will be held following the 2:00pm matinee that day (3:30 pm). The press opening for Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man is set for February 9, 2014. (more...)
