Two of France's most revered artists will make rare New York City appearances this Spring. Singer, songwriter and former first lady of France Carla Bruni will perform at Town Hall on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 7:30pm. Bruni is touring North America in support of her fourth album, Little French Songs, released in 2013. By overwhelming popular demand, French superstar Johnny Hallyday will return to the Beacon Theatre on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 7:30pm. FAME - the mixology and art-focused bar and restaurant located at 2015 W Division St in Wicker Park designed by HGTV's Antonio Ballatore - will unveil a completely revamped cocktail program, an expanded food menu with larger portions and lower prices, and new art installations including a Banksy print that will all roll out on Thursday, February 20. 'We've been successful since our opening over the summer, but we really want to up our cocktail program and move away from liquor infusions that dominated our previous menu and become more craft focused,' FAME managing partner Brad Gold said. 'We want to give our guests more value and more options when it comes to our food, too. Plus, we have this great space so we wanted to take better advantage of it by showcasing our incredible art to amp up the experience for everyone.' In a Doo-Wop and Rock & Roll interactive party extravaganza, Sha Na Na will celebrate the 45th Anniversary of their performance at Woodstock and the 35th Anniversary of their role in the mega hit movie Grease at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Friday, April 25, at 8 p.m. They will perform songs they sang at Woodstock where they got their big start 45 years ago, in the movie Grease 35 years ago, on The Sha Na Na TV show as well as music from their world-wide concert tour stops. Sha Na Na was cast in Grease as 'Johnny Casino and the Gamblers' and performed six songs on the movie soundtrack. The smash hit ballad 'Sandy', sung by John Travolta, was co-written by Sha Na Na's piano man, Screamin' Scott Simon. Writers In Treatment will honor Carrie White, Hollywood hairdresser to the stars and the author of "Upper Cut,' with the 'Experience, Strength and Hope' Award on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Skirball Cultural Center. Ed Begley Jr. will host the event and actress Joanna Cassidy ("Body of Proof," "Six Feet Under") will present the award to Carrie White. Trophy Scars, it's fair to say, don't believe in doing things by halves. In fact, they're more inclined to do things in doubles. The upcoming album from the Morristown, New Jersey quartet, Holy Vacants, was initially worked up as a 35-page screenplay treatment by vocalist and lyricist Jerry Jones, and is conceptually even more ambitious than 2011's Never Born, Never Dead EP, which took reincarnation as its theme.
