As part of the second annual Live Ideas festival, James Baldwin, This Time!, New York Live Artspresents Baldwin Through Dance: Charles O. Anderson and Dianne McIntyre. The shared program features the world premiere of Time is Time created and performed by acclaimed dancer and choreographer Dianne McIntyre, and the New York City premiere of Charles O. Anderson's Restless Natives.

Appearing in Seattle for the very first time, Ballet du Grand Theatre de Geneve has a rich, century-long history in Switzerland. Known for its exceptional, classically trained dancers and a repertory of varied works by today's leading choreographers, the company is considered one of the most original and inventive dance companies in Europe. For their Seattle debut, Ballet Geneve will perform the evening-length Preludes et Fugues by acclaimed Israeli choreographer Emanuel Gat, an hypnotic reflection on human interaction set to Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier performed to live, solo piano by Brooks Tran.

New York Live Arts presents the U.S. premiere of Alain Buffard's Baron Samedi, May 1 - 3 at 7:30pm in the New York Live Arts Theater. Featuring a stellar international cast including Nadia Beugre, Will Rawls and David Thomson, among others, Baron Samedi pays tribute to the eponymous legendary and unsettling Carnival figure and voodoo master of ceremonies.

Wendy Whelan, whom The New York Times has called 'America's greatest contemporary ballerina,' has danced with New York City Ballet for nearly 30 years. With the company, she has mastered Balanchine's neo-classical repertory, dance classics such as Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake and created works with many of today's leading choreographers. Following hip surgery and a successful recovery period, Whelan, 46, will return to City Ballet this spring season and will dance her final performance with the company on October 18.

A performing arts center in Hawaii, Seabury Hall Creative Arts Center on the island of Maui, will receive USITT's highest architecture award, the Honor Award, while three other venues - the SFJAZZ Center and the Bing Concert Hall in California and the Jerome Robbins Theater in New York --will receive Merit Awards for 2014.

It's hard to believe that it has been 50 years since Barbra Streisand portrayed Fanny Brice in the 1964 Broadway stage production of Funny Girl, and 46 years since she reprised her critically acclaimed role for the 1968 feature film, winning her an Oscar. The reason that it's so hard to believe is because she's still as relevant as ever and has to be the greatest Broadway export of all time. On April 29, Capitol/UMe will release the Gold-certified Funny Girl: Original Broadway Cast Recording in a 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition boxed set with a digitally remastered CD and vinyl LP, as well as a 48-page book featuring exclusive photos from the production and a new essay by Jay Landers, her longtime A&R executive, who has worked with her on many recordings. The remastered original cast recording will also be available for digital purchase, including 192k and 96k high definition audio on HDtracks.

Pacific Northwest Ballet continues its 2013-2014 season with George Balanchine's A Midsummer Night's Dream. A complete delight for all ages, this full-length ballet is based on William Shakespeare's comedy about the romantic adventures, quarrels and reunions of two pairs of mortal lovers and the king and queen of the fairies. Balanchine's Midsummer, which New York City Ballet premiered in 1962, was the first original evening-length ballet he choreographed in America. Staged by PNB Founding Artistic Director Francia Russell, PNB's production is an enchanted landscape where misunderstandings and mayhem weave tangled paths through the opulent layers of Martin Pakledinaz's designs and Balanchine's marvelously crafted partnerings. All ends well in Act II's wedding festivities with the recognition of ideal love, tenderly portrayed in an exquisite pas de deux. The Joyce Theater is pleased to present the return of Ballet du Grand Theatre de Geneve from today, March 25 - 30 following its critically acclaimed Joyce debut in 2007 and return in 2012.

On Monday, April 21 at 7:30pm at The Joyce Theater (175 8th Avenue), the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation will present DESTINY RISING, an evening of dance artistry benefiting the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation College Scholarship Program (which to date has awarded an impressive $8.4 million in college scholarships). Featuring special guest performances from prominent professional dance companies from all over the country, outstanding NYC Dance Alliance alumni and NYC Dance Alliance faculty, some of the artists taking part include Broadway dancers and NYCDA faculty Joey Dowling (In The Heights, Sweet Charity) & Andy Pellick (Original casts of Wicked & Tarzan) and the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company.

Gulfport Little Theatre is proud to present its spring musical production, Gypsy, by Arthur Laurents, with music by Jule Styne and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. Gypsy is directed by Bryan VonderBruegge with musical direction by Alan Cahela, choreography by Twyla Boudreaux Moore, and costumes by Kelli Overmyer. The Assistant Director is Mary LaCour and the producer is Miyoshi McGravey. The show runs April 4-13, with curtain at 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and matinee performances on Sunday with curtain at 3pm.

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) will present Rocio Molina and Rosario 'La Tremendita' tonight, March 20-22, Thursday through Saturday at 8PM in BAC's Jerome Robbins Theater. The Malaga-born bailaoraand choreographer, who was last seen in New York at the 2010 Flamenco Festival, will perform with the acclaimed flamenco singer the U.S. Premiere of Afectos at BAC, as part of the annual, citywide festival featuring Spain's finest dance and music artists.

With a pulsing persistence of rhythm, a show about rival juvenile street gangs in 1950s New York changed Broadway musical theatre forever. On March 31, the musical masterpiece 'West Side Story' comes to the Spencer to make history once again.

Ron De Jesus Dance presents its first full evening of dance in Chicago on April 25 and 26 at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts (1016 North Dearborn Street, Chicago). "Hyper Human" is a mixed repertory program of six works, by notable guest choreographers Arte Phillips and Benjamin Millepied, in addition to RDJD artistic director and Chicago native Ron De Jesus. Acclaimed Chicago jazz vocalist Paul Marinaro performs live the score for a world premiere suite of dances by De Jesus, Without a Song… Mic Check 1, 2.

The tour of the smash hit Broadway revival of WEST SIDE STORY is returning to Detroit! WEST SIDE STORY will appear at the Fisher Theatre, May 13- 18, 2014.

Target Margin Theater, presented by The Chocolate Factory Theater, continues its exploration of Yiddish Theater with a new adaptation of one of the central plays of Yiddish history, Uriel Acosta: I Want That Man!, taken from myriad literary and historical sources. Created and directed by TMT's Artistic Director, David Herskovits, with original songs by Rebecca Hart, and toy theater created by Kathleen Kennedy Tobin, the four-member cast features Don Castro, James Tigger! Ferguson, Mary Rasmussen and J.H. Smith III.
