Today in 1998, Footloose opened at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, where it ran for 709 performances. Footloose is a 1998 musical based on the 1984 film of the same name. The music is by Tom Snow (among others), the lyrics by Dean Pitchford (with additional lyrics by Kenny Loggins), and the book by Pitchford and Walter Bobbie. It starred Jeremy Kushnier as Ren McCormack, Stephen Lee Anderson as Reverend Shaw Moore, Jennifer Laura Thompson as Ariel Moore, Tom Plotkin as Willard Hewitt, and Dee Hoty as Vi Moore.

Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons: The One. The Only. The Original. opened on Broadway last night, October 19th and runs through Saturday, October 27, 2012. The Path Fund, Inc. has announced that Tony Award nominees John Tartaglia (Avenue Q) and Chad Kimball (Memphis) and Tony Award winner Alice Ripley (Next to Normal) along with Jeremy Kushnier (Jersey Boys) and Tituss Burgess (The Little Mermaid) will appear in the upcoming "ROCKERS ON BROADWAY - BEHIND THE MUSIC" concert scheduled to take place tonight, October 15th at the newly re-designed Cutting Room reopened at its new location (44 East 32nd Street, NYC) at 8:00PM.

Today we are talking to a breathtakingly gifted vocalist who premiered the first single from his brand new solo album COMFORTABLE right here in this very column on BroadwayWorld earlier this week - the one and only Tituss Burgess. Drew Gehling and Jarrod Spector have just returned to the Broadway company of JERSEY BOYS. Spector returned to the role of 'Frankie Valli' on Tuesday, October 2, following the final performance of Tony winner John Lloyd Young on Sunday, September 30. Gehling assumes the role of 'Bob Gaudio' joining Jeremy Kushnier as 'Tommy DeVito' tonight, October 9, following the departure of Quinn VanAntwerp and Andy Karl (respectively) after the Sunday, October 7 performance.

After a three-year absence, Gerard Alessandrini's Forbidden Broadway returns to the 47th Street Theatre with a brand new edition, Forbidden Broadway: ALIVE AND KICKING. The show, which opened last night, September 6, will run for a limited engagement through January 6, 2013. This production will mark Forbidden Broadway's 30th Anniversary, as well as its 21st edition.
