Tony Winner Jason Robert Brown Set for Northlight Theatre's 40th Anniversary Party, 12/11

Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, announces Northlight's 40th Anniversary Party featuring a performance by Tony Award winner, composer and lyricist Jason Robert Brown. The event, which will also include a cocktail reception, raffle and auction, will be held at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie, on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 7:00pm. Tickets are $150, and are available at 847.673.6300 or northlight.org.

FINDING NEVERLAND Finds Its Home on Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre!

Producer Harvey Weinstein and director Diane Paulus announced today that Finding Neverland will open on Broadway at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on April 8, 2015. This announcement comes on the heels of Finding Neverland's sold-out, world-premiere engagement at the American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, which ended yesterday. The production began previews at the Loeb Drama Center on Wednesday, July 23, and ran for a total of 75 performances - all of which played to capacity crowds, making it the highest attended and highest grossing production in A.R.T.'s 34-year history. Finding Neverland will begin preview performances on Broadway in March, 2015. Casting will be announced shortly.

The world premiere of the musical FINDING NEVERLAND, with music and lyrics by Gary Barlow and Elliot Kennedy, book by James Graham, directed by Diane Paulus with choreography by Mia Michaels, is presented at A.R.T. by special arrangement with Harvey Weinstein. The production of the new musical began previews on July 23, opened on, August 13, and closes today, September 28.

BWW Review: THE LAST FIVE YEARS Movie is a Marvelous Adaptation of Jason Robert Brown's Off-Broadway Musical

The film adaptation of 'The Last Five Years,' based on the musical by Jason Robert Brown, had its world premiere last night at the Toronto International Film Festival. 'The Last Five Years' is a musical chronicling a relationship taking place over a five year period. Jamie Wallerstein is a young, talented up and coming novelist who falls in love with Cathy Hiatt, a struggling actress. Their story is told almost entirely through song. All of Cathy's songs begin at the end of their marriage and move backwards in time to the beginning of their love affair, while Jamie's songs start at the beginning of their affair and move forward to the end of their marriage. They meet in the center when Jamie proposes.
