Bangarra Dance Theatre will take to the Playhouse stage at Arts Centre Melbourne from 28 August 2014 with the Melbourne Premiere of its new work Patyegarang. Choreographed by Artistic Director Stephen Page, Patyegarang commemorates the story of a young Eora woman who shared her culture and language with one of the first settlers in the place we now call Sydney.

Due to popular demand and following a hugely successful opening last week with glowing reviews from critics and audiences alike, Bangarra Dance Theatre has announced that six new shows have been added to the Sydney season of Patyegarang, now closing on 12 July.

Bangarra Dance Theatre will take to the Sydney Opera House stage from 13 June with the world premiere of its new work Patyegarang. From tonight, 20 November to 1 December 2013, Bangarra Dance Theatre presents Dance Clan 3, a new production commissioned by Artistic Director Stephen Page. For the first time, Bangarra has assembled an all-women choreographic team with four of the company's senior female dancers each creating a new work. The resulting program of diverse styles and ideas will be presented as part of the inaugural festival, Corroboree Sydney.

Bangarra Dance Theatre will return to Victoria this month and to Hobart in September, with a breathtaking performance tour of Kinship, by award-winning choreographer Stephen Page. During the tour, Bangarra will host a series of workshops to inspire and engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, particularly young people, in Victoria and Hobart.

Continuing this year's exploration of American drama, Sydney Theatre Company presents the iconic Our Town, Thornton Wilder's 1938 Pulitzer Prize winning play. One of the most widely produced plays in the United States, yet rarely seen in Australia, the heart-warming classic makes an affecting philosophical case for relishing life in the here and now as it chronicles the lives of two close-knit families living next door to each other. This new production, directed by Iain Sinclair, is at the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House, from 14 September 2010, opening 18 September.
