Orange County (or 'The O.C.' as it's more popularly nicknamed) saw a plethora of amazing theater this past year, thanks to a hits-driven national tour line-up at the Orange County Performing Arts Center, as well as some great productions at some local/regional companies such as South Coast Repertory and The Laguna Playhouse. And nearby L.A. and San Diego provided O.C. residents even more choices for great theatergoing experiences.

This last in the series of Wicked Summer Nights concerts from Upright Cabaret @ the Ford Amphitheatre Sunday evening August 23 was undoubtedly the best. It boasted the introduction on the West Coast of Stephen Schwartz's new opera Seance on a Wet Afternoon, narrated by Schwartz and sung magnificently by Lauren Flanigan and company. Act II was a fitting celebration of Schwartz's past works with a lineup of very exciting, and mostly fresh, lesser known talents.

This one night only concert will mark Alan's Los Angeles debut, and also be the first performance in Upright Cabaret's new venue at 'Upright Cabaret on Vermont' which is currently being renovated on Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles.
