Catalina Film Fest Celebrates 8th Annual Fest with Long Beach Expansion

Catalina Film Fest (CFF) is excited to announce it will celebrate 8 years of cinema on beautiful Catalina Island by expanding to a new sister city by the sea: Long Beach. The inaugural partnership will connect the island festival experience to the mainland Sept. 26-30, 2018, bookending CFF with 'launch' and 'landing' premieres, parties and panels Wednesday-Thursday and Sunday in Long Beach. Catalina Island will play host to CFF Friday and Saturday, with Festival-chartered party cruises to and from Catalina Classic Cruises' Queen Mary Terminal daily.

AMC's original series “Fear the Walking Dead” will return for the second half of season four, consisting of eight episodes, on Sunday, August 12 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT, as announced during last night's “Talking Dead.” Critics have said “Fear's” fourth season has “completely changed the game,” “…is deserving to be praised as one of the best shows on television, (Comicbook.com.), “feels like it's been given a second life” (Hypable.com), and “has knocked me off the couch” (TV Line.com), among other critical acclaim.

The New American Theatre (NAT) will present the Los Angeles premiere of Greg Kalleres' (Honky) comedy Meanwhile, Back at the Super Lair... at the award-winning company's new Hollywood venue. New American Theatre's artistic director Jack Stehlin directs. The production will open Saturday, May 26 and runs through Saturday, June 23. ' Super Lair' will be presented independently and then will be offered as a Hollywood Fringe Festival show.

AMC released today video and photos of Lennie James on the set of Fear the Walking Dead, which is currently shooting its fourth season in Austin, TX. It was announced last night on Talking Dead that James, who plays fan favorite character Morgan Jones on The Walking Dead, will star in Fear the Walking Dead Season 4 as part of a previously announced series crossover.

California State University, Northridge (CSUN) renamed its south wing of the Manzanita Hall to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Wing in honor of the HFPA's significant and continued investment in the Department of Cinema and Television Arts (CTVA). The dedication is in celebration of the $2 million grant the HFPA donated to CSUN's CTVA department to support students, and enhance technology along with the creation of a Hollywood Foreign Press Association Scholars program.
