From the surreal Hollywood life as Academy Award Winner Nicolas Cage's office manager, actress to family illness and love, it's all an uplifting story of one woman's courageous romp through life's heartaches, headaches and hysterics - Why Not Me. Love, Cancer and Jack White - is a new one woman show from Chicago writer and performer Jen Bosworth. The groundbreaking performance takes place at this years New York International Fringe Festival which runs from August 9th - 25th, 2013.

Chicago's Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport, hosts a variety of special screenings and appearances throughout the summer, including Curb Your Enthusiasm's Jeff Garlin in person for opening weekend of his new IFC Films comedy Dealing With Idiots, Hitchcock muse Tippi Hedren (The Birds) in attendance for a special matinee of Marnie and Alex Winter, aka Bill in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, presenting his new documentary feature Downloaded as part of the fifth annual Summer Music Film Festival.

New series for the 2013-14 season are "Back in the Game," "Betrayal," "The Goldbergs," "Killer Women," "Lucky 7," "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," "Mind Games," "Mixology," "Once Upon a Time in Wonderland," "Resurrection," "Super Fun Night," "Trophy Wife" and new alternative series "The Quest."

The upcoming broadcast season is undoubtedly going to be a good one. At least a whole lot better than the current slate of programming (most networks have ditched their 2012-2013 additions). NBC, CBS, Fox, and ABC have managed to enlist some major talent to headline their new shows for the 2013-2014 lineup, and are now in the process of announcing their pick-ups. It's a rarity for execs to land such names as Rebel Wilson, Gillian Anderson, Robin Williams, Allison Janney, Anna Faris, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Greg Kinnear at all - let alone all for new series in one year.
