Playwright Nick Payne & More Set for MTC's Sloan Panel for CONSTELLATIONS

Manhattan Theatre Club announces the upcoming Sloan Panel Discussion on Constellations, which will be held following the Thursday, January 15 performance of the play at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street), and is open to anyone attending the evening's performance. The panel, which will be presented in partnership with the World Science Festival, will focus on the role of science in the play and will feature playwright Nick Payne and Brian Greene, professor of Physics and Mathematics at Columbia University and co-founder of the World Science Festival. Social commentator Faith Salie will moderate.

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) announce recent recipients of the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Initiative commissions for Manhattan Theatre Club. The commissioned writers are Jeff Augustin (Little Children Dream of God), Courtney Baron (A Very Common Procedure) and Juliana Nash (Murder Ballad), Nell Benjamin (The Explorers Club), Madeline George (The (curious case of the) Watson Intelligence), Tom Holloway (And No More Shall We Part), Nathan Jackson (Broke-ology), Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (An Octoroon), Greg Pierce (Slowgirl), and Alexandra Wood (The Initiate).

Unorganized Crime, LLC announces that Tony Award-nominated actress Elizabeth Rodriguez (Broadway's The Motherf**ker With the Hat) will star opposite Academy Award-nominee Chazz Palminteri ( 'A Bronx Tale,' 'Bullets Over Broadway') in the world premiere play, Unorganized Crime, written by Kenny D'Aquila and directed by David Fofi. Unorganized Crime will now preview tonight, May 3 at 8pm; Sunday, May 4 at 7pm; Tuesday, May 6 and Wednesday, May 7 at 8pm and will open on Thursday, May 8 at 7pm and run through Saturday, May 31 at the Elephant Theatre, 1076 N. Lillian Way. (at Santa Monica Blvd., one block west of Vine) in Hollywood.

Steppenwolf Sets First Look 2014 Lineup; Runs 7/26-8/24

Steppenwolf Theatre Company has announced the line-up for the ninth annual First Look Repertory of New Work, featuring three developmental productions of new plays presented in rotating repertory July 26 - August 24, 2014 in the Garage Theatre (1624 N Halsted St). First Look 2014 includes: Ironbound by Martyna Majok, Hushabye by Tanya Saracho and Okay, Bye by Joshua Conkel. The 2014 festival also features readings of two new plays, American Beauty Shop by Dana Lynn Formby and Opium Den by Julie Marie Myatt. The Kennedy Center hosts its 12th annual Page-to-Stage new play festival from Saturday, August, 31 to Monday, September 2, 2013, featuring more than 40 theaters from the D.C. metropolitan area, all with a mission to produce and support new work. In a first-ever global English-language prepublication campaign, Amulet Books, in conjunction with Puffin in the UK, announces the 'Uncover the Color' online and social media promotion that engages fans and leads up to the release of the cover, title, and color of book 8 in Jeff Kinney's bestselling Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. The new book, which will be the biggest children's book release of 2013, is due to arrive in stores November 5, 2013.
