Off-Broadway's The New Group honors David Rabe and Nancy Manocherian, founding Artistic Director of the cell theater in Chelsea, at the company's 2012 Gala, hosted by Janeane Garofalo & Morgan Spector. Rabe and Manocherian are recipients of the sixth annual Michael Mendelson Award for Outstanding Commitment to Theater. Founded in 2005, this award recognizes individuals who show outstanding commitment to the theatrical community. Past recipients include Wallace Shawn, Fred Wistow, Robyn Goodman, Ethan Hawke, Ruth and Stephen Hendel, Wendy Ettinger and Derek McLane.

Filmed at Minneapolis' historic State Theatre, IN GOD WE RUST features Black's inimitable comedy tirades as he jumps up and down and wags his finger at the absurdities of our lives.

Off-Broadway's The New Group honored David Rabe and Nancy Manocherian with the Michael Mendelson Award for Outstanding Commitment to Theater at its 2012 Gala, hosted by Janeane Garofalo & Morgan Spector, last night, February 27. The evening offered cocktails, dinner, entertainment and silent & live auctions, along with performances by Alan Cumming, Veanne Cox, Jay Rogers, Penny Fuller, Leslie Uggams and Jeremiah James. Today we are talking to a stand-up comedienne celebrated for her caustic wit, erudite political humor and illuminating social observations who has also made a name for herself over the last two decades as an actress by appearing in over 100 feature films and television shows, including recurring roles on the TV series SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, THE BEN STILLER SHOW, THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW and 24, as well as her film resume, ranging from roles in ROMY & MICHELE'S HIGH SCHOOL REUNION to WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER to REALITY BITES, COP LAND, THE CABLE GUY, NOW AND THEN and many more - the one and only Janeane Garofalo. In addition to a twenty-year career retrospective, touching upon many of her most notable big screen and small screen appearances - sharing comments on many of her favorite colleagues and co-stars along the way - Garofalo also opens up about the theatrically attuned work she has previously done - such as HBO's THE LARAMIE PROJECT - and, most importantly, fills us in on the new play she is starring in for The New Group, RUSSIAN TRANSPORT, directed by Scott Elliott. Besides all about RUSSIAN TRANSPORT, her character in it and the political and social issues the new original play bravely tackles, Garofalo shares her enthusiasm for her newfound experiences in the theatre world and her intention of pursuing a theatre career further. Producer Daryl Roth just announced the complete cast for the final month of the long-running hit show Love, Loss, and What I Wore. Karyn Quackenbush, who has been associated with the show as performer and standby since its first readings in 2009, and Joyce van Patten, who starred as 'Gingy' in the September 2011 cast, will join previously announced cast members Sierra Boggess, Ally Walker and Erica Watson, performing Wednesday, February 29 through Sunday, March 25, which marks the show's 1,013th and final performance.

Linda Kelsey, Saint Paul actress and co-chair of Park Square Theatre's $4.2 million Next Stage Campaign, is raising money by putting on a show.

Nora Ephron and Delia Ephron's LOVE, LOSS, AND WHAT I WORE, an intimate collection of stories covering some of life's most poignant moments and their corresponding wardrobe, will appear at Detroit's historic Gem Theatre February 8 - March 4.

Producer Daryl Roth announced today that the long-running Off Broadway favorite Love, Loss, and What I Wore will close on Sunday, March 25, 2012 after playing for two and a half years and 1,013 performances. (March 15th marks the show's landmark 1,000 performance.)

Due to popular demand, The New Group has announced a two-week extension for Russian Transport, which began previews on January 17 and had an Official Opening Night on January 30.

Producer Daryl Roth announced today that Obie Award-winner Quincy Tyler Bernstine (Ruined), Sierra Boggess (The Little Mermaid), Alexandra Silber (Master Class), Love, Loss, and What I Wore alumna Zuzanna Szadkowski ("Gossip Girl") and Ally Walker ("Sons of Anarchy") will all join upcoming casts of Love, Loss, and What I Wore, now in its third hit year at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43 Street).

Producer Daryl Roth announced today that Daytime Emmy Award-winner and "One Live to Live" star Robin Strasser, Erica Watson (Precious), and TV icon Dawn Wells ("Gilligan's Island") will all join upcoming casts of the Off Broadway hit Love, Loss, and What I Wore, now in its third smash year. Strasser joins the February 2012 cast (February 1 - 26) on the heels of the final episode of the long-running "One Life to Live," and Wells joins the same cast having recently performed in the successful Chicago production of Love, Loss, and What I Wore. Watson will take part in the show beginning February 29, through April 1, and was also part of the show's Chicago run.

Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts will present the Arizona premiere of the international hit play Love, Loss, and What I Wore on Jan. 3-8, 2012. The show's Scottsdale cast will feature five actresses, including Loretta Swit, a star of the long-running television comedy M*A*S*H.
