Lucille Lortel Awards Administration and Lucille Lortel Foundation Honor Daryl Roth with 2010 Lifetime Achievement Prize

Today, the Lucille Lortel Awards Administration Committee and the Lucille Lortel Foundation announce the recipient of the 2010 Lifetime Achievement Award: Daryl Roth. This honor is conferred to a theatre professional known for their dedication to Off-Broadway. On May 2, 2010, Daryl Roth will join the recipients in the 18 other Lortel Award categories on stage for the 25th Annual Lucille Lortel Awards starting at 8 PM EST at Terminal 5 in New York City.

Broadway Drama 'Honour' Opens Gulfshore Playhouse Season

Broadway veteran Allen Fitzpatrick ('Les Miserables', 'Sweet Smell of Success', 'Damn Yankees', 'Passion', 'The Scarlet Pimpernel', '42nd Street') will star as Gus. Broadway, Off-Broadway and television actress Elizabeth Hess ('M Butterfly', 'Beggars in the House of Plenty' and television's 'Law and Order' and 'Clarissa Explains it All') will portray Honor, the central character of this drama. Jessica Rothert, who will appear as Sophie and Heidi-Marie Ferren, who portrays Claudia, will round out the cast.

Additional casting has been announced for the upcoming PBS special AMERICAN MASTERS starring Elizabeth Marvel as Louisa May Alcott. The cast will include Daniel Gerroll as Bronson Alcott and Jane Alexander as Ednah Cheney. The special is entitled 'Louisa May Alcott: The Woman Behind Little Women' and will air on PBS on December 28th at 9:00pm.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts today announced the selection of the individuals who will receive the Kennedy Center Honors of 2009. Recipients to be honored at the 32nd annual national celebration of the arts are: writer, composer, actor, director, and producer Mel Brooks; pianist and composer Dave Brubeck; opera singer Grace Bumbry; actor, director, and producer Robert De Niro; and singer and songwriter Bruce Springsteen.

A slew of Broadway talent joined in the 32nd annual Kennedy Center Honors on December 6th to honor acclaimed Broadway producer, Mel Brooks. The group included Gary Beach, Matthew Broderick, Richard Kind, Jane Krakowski, Matthew Morrison, Frank Langella and Martin Short. Brooks was honored as a winner of the 2009 Kennedy Center Honors for his contributions to both stage and screen.
