Nickelodeon and Imagine Kids+Family are partnering to develop the original live-action series, Untitled Space Show (working title). Untitled Space Show will be showrun and written by Daniel Knauf (Carnivale, The Blacklist) and centers around a group of kids who mistakenly launch into space. The series marks the first project co-produced by Nickelodeon and Imagine Kids+Family. Untitled Space Show will be executive produced by Imagine Entertainment Chairmen Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, Imagine Kids+Family President Stephanie Sperber, and Knauf. The production will be overseen by Shauna Phelan, Senior Vice President, Scripted Content for Nickelodeon and by creative executive Will Davis for Imagine Kids+Family.

CBS today announced premiere dates for drama series airing this summer, including the new action-adventure series BLOOD & TREASURE; the seventh and final season of the modern day Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson drama, ELEMENTARY; and the second season of INSTINCT, starring Alan Cumming and Bojana Novakovic.

A cast list has been announced for Pioneer Theatre Company's Concert Production of La Cage aux Folles, the beloved gender-bending musical comedy and winner of six Tony Awards including Best Musical. La Cage aux Folles is the only Broadway musical to win the Tony for Best Revival twice, and is the source material for the hit film The Birdcage. The concert-style production runs just three performances, March 15 and 16, 2019, and is an add-on to PTC's 2018-2019 season.

SHOWTIME has announced that Academy Award® winner Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) and Anthony Peckham (Invictus) have joined the drama series THE PRESIDENT IS MISSING, inspired by the bestselling novel by President Bill Clinton and James Patterson, currently in development. McQuarrie will executive produce with Heather McQuarrie and the book's authors. Peckham will also executive produce and write the adaptation. The announcement was made today by Gary Levine, President of Entertainment, Showtime Networks Inc.

David Lynch is announced as the latest instructor for MasterClass in 2019. The Twin Peaks Director joins fellow Instructors Natalie Portman, Jodie Foster, Timbaland, and Neil Gaiman slated to launch classes in early 2019.

Actor Cory Tucker has joined the cast of best-selling author James Patterson's interactive new thriller “The Chef” which was released exclusively on Facebook Messenger as part digital novel and part movie on October 30, 2018.  Cory stars as the lead character in the role of Caleb J. Several of the leading professional theatres have become destinations in and of themselves - (witness the inclusion of Maine State Music Theatre and Ogunquit Playhouse in Scott Andrews' upcoming book, Vacationland) - while venerable community groups continue to raise the bar for their work. I am privileged to get to sample these performances as Broadway World's Maine editor and to be able to compare many of them favorably with shows I see across the country, in New York and London. These are my personal choices of the best in Maine for 2018, grouped by theatre company and show.
