As previously announced, the cast of SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK will get a chance to perform at the Tony Awards on Sunday, and according to Rolling Stone creators Bono and The Edge will make an appearance as well. The duo will 'likely' introduce the Spidey cast as they take the stage at the Beacon Theatre on June 12.

And then there is the Tony Awards ceremony, the season closer most celebrated for its live performances. Though always full of surprises, BroadwayWorld has gotten the scoop on a number of performances audiences can expect from their favorite Broadway shows this season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Robin Williams and Brooke Shields have been added as presnters for this year's Tony Awards.

Variety is reporting that Tony winners Laura Benanti and Katie Finneran will host the Creative Arts Awards portion of the Tonys, which as in the past will take place before the CBS broadcast. Unlike previous years where the ceremony was an hour, this year's has been shortened to 30 minutes. The trade paper reports that details on which awards they'll be presenting this year are not clear.

The Tony Awards announced today that they will reassemble an all-star cast of the New York Philharmonic's limited run of Company for the 2011 Tony Awards. This once-in-a-lifetime assembly of talent will perform LIVE exclusively at the Tony Awards on Sunday, June 12th. The performance will include: Stephen Colbert, Jon Cryer, Katie Finneran, Neil Patrick Harris, Christina Hendricks, Aaron Lazar, Patti LuPone, Jill Paice, Martha Plimpton, Anika Noni Rose, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Jim Walton and Chryssie Whitehead. New Haarlem Arts Theatre (NHAT), the new professional theater company of City College of New York (CCNY), will present 'Blues for Mister Charlie' by James Baldwin, directed by Eugene Nesmith, from June 23 to July 17 at Aaron Davis Hall, located at W. 135th Street and Convent Avenue, Manhattan (Hamilton Heights).

Michael Riedel reports in today's New York Post that talks are underway for a potential performance by Bono, The Edge and cast members from SPIDER-MAN on this year's Tony Awards. The show, which hasn't opened yet would traditionally not be offered a performance slot, which are normally reserved for musicals nominated for Best Musical and Best Revival of a Musical. Riedel also reports that in addition to trying to find a spot for SPIDER-MAN, producers are also attempting to find a slot for PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT. Also on the list? Much of the cast of THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS will reunite to perform 'Commencing in Chattanooga' and 'Go Back Home'.

Route 66 Theatre Company will hold its annual benefit, Milemarkers on June 14, 2011 at 7:30PM at the Mercury Theater, the current home of its critical and box office smash A Twist of Water, which plays through June 26. This is a one night only event on June 14.

The City College of New York (CCNY) and its Department of Theatre and Speech are launching the New Haarlem Arts Theatre (NHAT), a new professional theater company in residence at Aaron Davis Hall, which will produce its first season in the summer of 2011. The objective is to establish a professional theater uptown that will rank among the best in the country and to produce bold theatrical works that express the true history, culture, and diversity of America.

Drury Lane Theatre presents the Tony Award-winning international hit musical AIDA, Directed and Choreographed by Jeff Award winner Jim Corti (Sweet Charity, Meet Me in St. Louis, Cabaret, and Sugar.) Featuring a dynamic cast led by Stephanie Umoh as 'Aida' ('Sarah' in the 2009 Broadway production of Ragtime) and Jared Zirilli as 'Radames' (first National Tour of Wicked), AIDA closes May 29 at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane.
