A CONVERSATION WITH EDITH HEAD Comes to Pear Theatre

LA Stage Alliance Nominated Actress and New Times Winner, Best Actress Susan Claassen stars in the Bay Area premiere of "A Conversation With Edith Head" at Pear Theatre from December 7 through 16. The internationally acclaimed show, based on EDITH HEAD'S HOLLYWOOD by Edith Head and Paddy Calistro, is a feast of delicious behind-the-scenes stories about Hollywood's greatest stars that provide an intimate portrait of Hollywood's legendary costume designer. "A Conversation With Edith Head" previews on December 6, with press and Opening Night on Friday, December 7 (followed by a champagne gala). The show runs Thursdays through Sundays through December 16. All performances are held at the Pear Theatre, 1110 La Avenida St., Mountain View. Arthur Laurents was best known for his work as librettist on Gypsy and West Side Story, but was also well known as a playwright, having won a Tony Award® for Hallelujah, Baby! in 1968. Later as a director, he was Tony-nominated for Gypsy in 1975 (and the 2008 revival) as well as the original 1984 La Cage Aux Folles.

Ingrid Bergman is the most successful Swedish actress ever and during her lifetime she won 3 Academy awards. Which is a very rare achievement for any actor or actress. She was a very strong woman and took control over her career in a way which was not common at that time. The story of her life has inspired Staffan Aspegren and Jan-Erik Saaf to write a musical about a part of her life. The world premier of the musical was the 9th of February at Östgotateatern in Linkoping, Sweden.
