Mark Rylance to Reign on Broadway in FARINELLI AND THE KING This Winter

Mark Rylance, three-time Tony Award winner (Jerusalem, Boeing-Boeing, Twelfth Night) and Academy Award-winner (Bridge of Spies), will return to Broadway in the critically acclaimed Shakespeare's Globe production of FARINELLI AND THE KING, a new play with music by author and composer Claire van Kampen, it was announced today by producers Sonia Friedman, Shakespeare's Globe and Paula Marie Black.

Archie Madekwe's screen credits include Fresh Meat and films Legacy and Second Coming. He's now making his professional stage debut in The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia, Edward Albee's darkly comic masterpiece about a successful family man who embarks on a shocking love affair. Ian Rickson's revival also features Damian Lewis, Sophie Okonedo and Jason Hughes, and begins previews at Theatre Royal Haymarket on 24 March.

It is announced today that the Tony Award-winning and Academy Award-nominated actor Sophie Okonedo will join Damian Lewis in a new production of Edward Albee's The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia? Directed by Ian Rickson, the production will play a strictly limited 12 week season at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from 24th March to 24th June 2017.

The Public Theater Names New Director of New Work Development

The Public Theater announced today that Jeanie O'Hare has been named the Director of New Work Development. O'Hare, who will start at The Public in September, has more than 20 years of experience, working with leading theater companies in Britain and most recently serving as the Chair of Playwriting at the Yale School of Drama.
