The BritWeek Film and TV Summit, a co-production between the Los Angeles chapter of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and Variety, is committed to exploring how entertainment breaks through and crosses over in the U.K. and U.S. The return of this popular conference series will focus on the latest trends in production, distribution, finance and marketing, as they relate to connecting to today's audiences on both sides of the pond.

The Walt Disney Company is donating proceeds from the highly anticipated World Premiere of Walt Disney Pictures/Jerry Bruckheimer Films' "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," to Boys & Girls Clubs of America, it was announced today by Rich Ross, Chairman, The Walt Disney Studios.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, stage veterans Nicholas Hoult, John Kassir, Ewan McGregor, Ian McShane, Bill Nighy, and Stanley Tucci are on board for New Line/Legendary's 'Jack the Giant Killer.' The movie will be written by Darren Lemke and directed by Bryan Singer.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES will land in theaters May 20, 2011. Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Rob Marshall, this new episode from the legendary saga captures the fun, adventure and humor that ignited the hit franchise-this time in Disney Digital 3D.

Starz Entertainment has acquired U.S. television rights to TANDEM Communications' ground-breaking eight-hour television adaptation of Ken Follett's bestselling novel 'The Pillars of the Earth.' Starz kicks-off with a two-hour premiere of the series, produced by Tandem Communications, MUSE Entertainment and Ridley and Tony Scott's SCOTT FREE Films, on July 23 at 10pm et/pt. The hour-long eight-part series will air Fridays at 10pm et/pt.
