The Hollywood Arts Council (HAC) presented their 29th Annual FREE Children's Festival of the Arts at Paramount Pictures in Hollywood on Sunday, August 10, 2014. Shauna McClure, Executive Director of the Hollywood Arts Council said, 'This year's Children's Festival of the Arts was attended by a record high of around 5,000 people. The event was a total success! People whose parents attended the festival in the past are now bringing their own kids. The diversity of the crowd in attendance was truly amazing.'

The Hollywood Arts Council (HAC) will present their family fun-filled FREE 29th Annual Children's Festival of the Arts on Sunday, August 10, 2014 from 12-Noon to 4:30 p.m. at Paramount Pictures, 5555 Melrose Avenue in Hollywood, CA 90038. Casey McCabe, on-air talent for AMP Radio 97.1 FM will serve as the Event Emcee.

New York City Opera's 2013-14 season and BAM's 2013 Next Wave Festival opened Sept. 17 with the U.S. premiere of Anna Nicole, an opera by composer Mark-Anthony Turnage and librettist Richard Thomas based on the flamboyant life and tragic death of Anna Nicole Smith. This highly anticipated co-production includes seven performances at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House, on September 17, 19, 21, 24, 25, 27, and 28 at 7:30pm. ANNA NICOLE tells the story of Anna Nicole Smith, a small-town Texas waitress (and later, exotic dancer) in pursuit of the American Dream. Smith wed an octogenarian billionaire and became a Playboy model and tabloid celebrity, living a life of excess and substance abuse under the constant glare of the media until her death at the age of 39.

As reported by Deadline, Mary Harron has agreed to take the reigns on THE ANNA NICOLE STORY for Lifetime. Agnes Bruckner is set to star.

Deadline reports that Academy Award winner Martin Landau and Oscar-nominated Virginia Madsen have joined the cast of Lifetime's upcoming biopic THE ANNA NICOLE STORY. Mary Harron (American Psycho) will direct the project and will executive produce along with Craig Zadan, Neil Meron and Judith Verno.

The Hollywood Arts Council celebrated their 27th Annual Children's Festival of the Arts with a salute to Paramount Pictures' 100th birthday on the grounds of the historic Hollywood studio this past Sunday, August 12th. The Hollywood Arts Council will pull out all the stops this year at their 27th Annual Children's Festival of the Arts as they celebrate and honor Paramount Pictures' 100th Birthday. The FREE One-Day Only Festival will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 12-Noon - 4:30 p.m. at Paramount Pictures (5555 Melrose Avenue) in the shaded garden setting adjacent to their historic gated entrance. The festival feature live performances of dance and music from around the world, celebrities, family art workshops, face painting and puppet making.

Larry Birkhead, former boyfriend of Anna Nicole Smith, might take legal action against the recently opened ANNA NICOLE opera playing Royal Opera House, according to Reuters. Birkhead claims that the ROH never attempted to contact him or Smith's estate about the production.

This new opera is provocative in its themes, exciting in its bravura style and thrilling with its sheer contemporary nerve,' it added in language normally reserved for reality TV.'

The Theatre School at DePaul University is delighted to announce that this coming December 31, 2010, will mark the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Merle Reskin Theatre (formerly The Blackstone Theatre). The Beaux-Arts style Blackstone Theatre, which was designed by Chicago architects Marshall and Fox, opened its doors just off of Michigan Avenue in the South Loop on New Years' Eve of 1910. In the course of the past century it has changed owners, names, addresses, audiences, and has stayed a hub of theatrical arts in a changing neighborhood and city. It faced many noteworthy changes in entertainment, including the introduction of the radio, television and film industries.

Richard Thomas, co-creator of Jerry Springer the Opera, is set to direct a new opera based on the tragic life of blond bombshell and train-wreck Anna Nicole Smith. The story will be written by Mark-Anthony Turnage and staged at Covant Garden in 2011. The tale is bound to be a dramatic one as Smith's life was filled with a plethora of tabloid worthy controversy. While working as a stripper Smith met and married elderly billionaire J. Howard Marshall. After Marshall's death Smith was caught up in a very public battle with her husband's son over money. She briefly starred in her own reality TV show during which her weight ballooned. She appeared publicly intoxicated numerous times and succumbed to several embarrassing public appearances. Tragedy encompassed the later years of her life, as three days after the birth of her daughter in the Bahamas Smith's son was found dead. Five months later Smith also passed away.
