The Off-Broadway theatre company The Playwrights Realm - currently in rehearsals with Gonzalo Rodriguez Risco's DRAMATIS PERSONAE (previews begin October 1st at the Cherry Lane Studio - 38 Commerce Street) - has selected its 2010-2011 PLAYWRIGHTS REALM WRITERS FELLOWS; it has been announced by Playwrights Realm Artistic Director Katherine Kovner.

The 25th Annual Helen Hayes Awards were presented last night as one of our nation's most prestigious cultural events. Nearly 2,000 theatre artists and supporters filled the majestic Warner Theatre in downtown DC for an evening of dazzling entertainment replete with humor, celebration, and great tributes to Washington area professional theatre.

Rep Stage, the professional Equity theatre in residence at Howard Community College (HCC), continues its 16th season with the regional premiere of Jenny Schwartz's 'God's Ear,' playing April 1 through April 26, 2009 in the Studio Theatre of HCC. 'God's Ear' focuses on a young couple, Ted and Mel, and how they cope with the loss of their son. Positioned firmly in the center of 'God's Ear' is the concept of language, and how language and expression are used to deal with tragedy and grief. Paul Morella (Ted), Julie-Ann Elliott (Mel) and Lauren Williams (Lanie) star; Helen Hayes Award-winning director Kasi Campbell directs.
