Heroes: Mortals and Myths in Ancient Greece, an exhibition exploring the human need for heroes through the arts of one of the oldest and most influential cultures in history, will open in the Frist Center's Upper-Level Galleries January 29, 2010, and remain on view through April 25, 2010.

Hartford Stage, The Mark Twain House & Museum and The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. has announced that Oscar-nominee HAl Holbrook will make a rare appearance at the Hartford Lincoln Center on Saturday, January 23rd at 7:30pm in Mark Twain TONIGHT! - his acclaimed Tony Award-winning one-man show which celebrates the humor, satirical wit, and timeless observations of Mark Twain. Holbrook will be taking a brief break from the set of his upcoming feature film Flying Lessons, where he plays a retired officer and war veteran with Alzheimer's Disease.

The Ira Brind School of Theater Arts at the University of the Arts kicks off its 2009 - 2010 Main Stage performance series with Harper Lee's 1960 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel 'To Kill a Mockingbird.' The production is the first of four Main Stage shows to be presented by the Brind School this season.

This month, the Aspen Writers' Foundation (AWF) launches the second Big Read Roaring Fork Valley. The Big Read is designed to restore reading to the center of American culture. This community-based reading campaign aims to get as many people as possible in a given area reading and talking about the same book at the same time. Over the next two months the AWF is inviting the entire Roaring Fork Valley to join in reading and celebrating To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.
