At the gala 46th Annual Equity Jeff Awards held at Drury Lane Oakbrook on Monday, October 13, awards were spread among numerous theatres honoring a season of outstanding productions. From Writers Theatre, "The Dance of Death", a battle of wits between a tyrant and his manipulative wife, received the Production-Play award for a large theatre, along with its two principal actors Larry Yando and Shannon Cochran. "The Normal Heart", Larry Kramer's tale of the early indifference in N.Y. about the HIV/Aids crisis, presented by TimeLine Theatre Company, was honored with awards for Production-Play for a midsize theatre and for Director Nick Bowling.

The Centennial Festival of Riverboats, a commemoration of the 100th birthday of the Belle of Louisville, will feature a variety of musical and performing acts, powered by Louisville Gas and Electric Company. The Kentucky Center curated the musical lineup with a close eye on authentic, river-inspired genres -- carefully orchestrating the music roster to set the tone for the event. The celebration, today, October 14-19, will have a distinctly local flavor, centering on Louisville's best music, food, bourbon and art along the banks of Waterfront Park.

The Clarence Brown Theatre will hold three Deaf Night at the Theatre performances during the 2014-2015 Season. The performances include: The Miracle Worker on Tuesday, October 14, A Christmas Carol on Tuesday, December 9 and A Midsummer Night's Dream on Tuesday, March 3.
