Goodspeed Musicals delves into the sultry and shadowy world of 1940s film noir with their clever production of CITY OF ANGELS. Promising lots of laughs and plenty of jazzy tunes, this witty musical comedy ran through November 27 at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn. According to published reports, Goodspeed Musicals will bring back Something's Afoot, which played the opera house in 1973. The musical will be the third in the 2012 season, and is set to open October 24. Cast ing has not yet been announced.

During the final week of Goodspeed Musicals' slick and sexy hit City of Angels, the company participated in a nightly audience appeal. To everyone's delight, this year's fundraising garnered more than $6,500 for Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS.

Principal cast changes have been announced for the Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, the longest-running show in Broadway history. Produced by Cameron Mackintosh/Really Useful Group, Inc. and directed by Harold Prince, the musical phenomenon is in its unprecedented 24th year in New York, playing at The Majestic Theatre (247 West 44th Street).

The Joyce Theater Foundation will present the NYC premiere of Angel Reapers, a new dance/theater piece with text by Alfred Uhry and direction and choreography by Martha Clarke for a two-week limited run from November 29 - December 11.

Goodspeed Musicals is holding local Equity auditions for its 2012 season, on Saturday, December 10 and Sunday, December 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in East Haddam, Conn.

Carla Cook, Brandon Victor Dixon, Jared Grimes and Adriane Lenox have been cast in Duke Ellington's Cotton Club Parade, opening November 18 at New York City Center.

In advance of the highly anticipated New York premiere of Angel Reapers, the new dance/theater/music piece with text by Alfred Uhry and direction and choreography by Martha Clarke, the two creators will sit down with Gideon Lester (Director of Columbia University's Arts Collaboration Lab) to discuss this provocative work on Monday, November 21 from 6pm-8pm at Joyce SoHo (155 Mercer Street, between Houston and Prince).

On Monday, November 21, Goodspeed Musicals will hold their Annual Food Drive to benefit the East Haddam Food Bank. Goodspeed will be collecting donations in the hopes that they will have another record-breaking year for participation. The need is great this year as the number of households served by the East Haddam Food Bank has more than tripled in the past couple of years.

Producer Carolyn Rossi Copeland, currently represented Off-Broadway with the hit play Freud's Last Session, has assembled a starry cast for today's (November 14th) special invitational presentation of the original new musical AMAZING GRACE, with music & lyrics by Christopher Smith and book by Mr. Smith & Arthur Giron, at the New 42nd Street Studios.

The 49th season includes three outstanding musicals that are sure to delight theatregoers: the bold and brassy Mame will run from April 20 - July 1; Rodgers and Hammerstein's Carousel will run from July 13 - September 23; and an exciting fall musical to be announced which will run from October 5 - December 9.
