Photo Flash: The Other Theatre Company Announces Casting for the Return Holiday Hit BARNEY THE ELF

The Other Theatre Company (TOTC) announces the return of the smash hit with a queer twist Barney the Elf, written by company member Bryan Renaud, music arrangements by Jermaine Hill, original direction by Carin Silkaitis, additional direction and choreography by Tommy Rivera-Vega, music direction by Ali Goodman, November 30 - January 1, 2017 at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. Previews are Tuesday, Nov. 29 and Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 8 p.m. Opening night is Thursday, Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. The performance schedule is Thursdays at 8 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 3 and 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Additional shows on Tuesday, Dec. 20 and 27, and Wednesday, Dec. 21. No shows on Dec. 24 and 25. Tickets for previews are $20 and for the regular run $25. Tickets are on sale now at theothertheatrecompany.com.

Love, Laughs, and Ninja Fights in Seattle Rep's VIETGONE

Seattle Repertory Theatre presents Vietgone, the highly anticipated new play, produced in association with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, from up-and-coming playwright Qui Nguyen (Vampire Cowboys). Vietgone loosely chronicles Nguyen's parent's journey from Vietnam to American in 1975, with a quirky approach Nguyen describes as 'a sex comedy about my parents.' With direction by May Adrales, who has been with the show since its inception, Vietgone will run December 2, 2016-January 1, 2017 (opening night is December 7, 2016) in the Leo K. Theatre. Hosted by Sirius XM Radio Star Seth Rudetsky whom the New York Times dubbed "The Mayor of Broadway," this unique series returns this winter to The Broward Center for the Performing Arts' Parker Playhouse with three new concert dates for the 2016-17 season produced by Mark Cortale. Kicking off the season is Broadway's Gavin Creel, Olivier Award Winning star "The Book of Mormon and star of "She Loves Me" performing on December 30 at 8:00 PM, immediately prior to his return to Broadway where he will co-star with Bette Midler in "Hello Dolly!." He is followed by Matthew Morrison, who has been nominated for a Tony Award for "Light in the Piazza" and Emmy and Golden Globe Awards for his starring role in the hit TV series "Glee" on February 17, 2017 at 8:00 PM, and comedy legend Andrea Martin, star of TV's SCTV and two-time Tony Award winner for the Broadway revival of "Pippin" and "My Favorite Year," on April 1, 2017 at 8:00 PM.

Off-Broadway Encore of All-Female Soccer Play THE WOLVES Starts Tonight

Directed by Elizabeth Margoliusand starring Gene Weygandt (best known as The Wonderful Wizard of Oz in "Wicked" in Chicago and on Broadway), "Uncle Philip's Coat" follows Matty on his humorous and heartfelt journey of personal discovery, sparked by his inheritance of a tattered coat from his eccentric Russian-Jewish immigrant uncle Philip. 

Porchlight Music Theatre Announces Fourth and Final Extension for IN THE HEIGHTS

10th Annual Mexico/United States Playwright Exchange

The Lark is thrilled to announce the 10 th Anniversary celebration of the Mexico/United States Playwright Exchange. For a full decade, this synergetic program has brought Mexican writers to the U.S. and U.S. writers to Mexico to work together and with a community of bilingual actors and stage directors on translating their plays. The shared artistic process is aimed at creating a deeper understanding between our countries and cultures. From December 4-7, 2016, The Lark will bring together the program's artists and audiences for a festival featuring readings of excerpts from 38 of the plays translated through this program. Events are open to the public and free of charge.
