On Sunday, November 13, 2016 at 3pm and 7:30pm and Monday, November 14, 2016 at 7:30pm, Works & Process at the Guggenheim presents Working in Process/ New Bodies, the culmination and World Premiere of choreographer Jodi Melnick's Works & Process residency with dancers Sara Mearns, Jared Angle, and Gretchen Smith at the Guggenheim's Frank Lloyd Wright-designed Peter B. Lewis Theater. Melnick's work weaves dance, spoken text, and moderated discussion with Claudia La Rocco, with live music for harpsichord by composer Gyorgy Ligeti, violin by composer Heinrich Biber, and newly commissioned music by Robert Boston.

Chita Rivera is at home on the biggest Broadway stages and at Carnegie Hall - now you can see her perform on the stage at The Ridgefield Playhouse!  Ingersoll Auto of Danbury World Music Series and Ridgefield Magazine Broadway and Cabaret Series presents a one-night-only celebration of the Tony Award winner on Sunday, November 20th at 7:00 pm.  Called a "force of nature" by the Associated Press, Chita will perform all the hits from her remarkable 65 year career including numbers from "West Side Story"; "Sweet Charity"; "Chicago'; "Kiss of the Spider Woman"; "Bye, Bye Birdie" and more! Ticket holders are invited to a free wine tasting in the lobby of The Playhouse at 6:15 pm, courtesy of The Wine Group/Benziger Family Winery-and can start off their evening with a Prix Fixe Dinner at Bernard's (20 West Lane, Ridgefield). Partially underwritten by Adam Broderick Salon & Spa, this show will also include a special tribute to Ms. Rivera's dear friends John Kander & Fred Ebb (writers of Kiss of the Spider Woman), as well as songs by Leonard Bernstein, Charles Strouse, Jerry Herman and Stephen Sondheim. Cincinnati Ballet Debuts THE NUTCRACKER at the Kennedy Center, 11/23-27

Cincinnati Ballet marks its full company debut at the Kennedy Center with Victoria Morgan's charming production of The Nutcracker, November 23-27 for seven performances in the Opera House. A cherished holiday tradition that has become an annual Cincinnati-area favorite, this production features elaborate scenic design by John Ezell, whimsical stage effects with lighting by Trad A Burns, vibrant costumes by Carrie Robbins, awe-inspiring acrobatics, and entrancing choreography by Artistic Director and CEO Victoria Morgan. Morgan, who is celebrating her 20th season with the company, is also one of very few female Artistic Directors in the ballet world. Following tradition, dozens of local children from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area will join the company on stage, while the Arlington Children's Chorus lend their voices to the dazzling snow scene. The Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra will accompany this production, led by conductor and Cincinnati Ballet Music Director Carmon DeLeone.

GK Arts Center is proud to host Gelsey Kirkland Ballet's perennial holiday classic, The Nutcracker. This is the fourth year this production of The Nutcracker will be performed over the course of a special two-week engagement, running December 8-18 at the GK Arts Center (29 Jay Street, formerly St. Ann's Warehouse in Dumbo, Brooklyn, N.Y.).  The 18-member company is under the artistic direction of Gelsey Kirkland and Michael Chernov.

Boston Ballet Launches 53rd Season With the North American Premiere of LE CORSAIRE, Today

Boston Ballet's 53rd season begins with the North American premiere of Ivan Liška's adventure and romance-filled Le Corsaire, with music by Adolphe Adam, Leo Delibes, Cesare Pugni, Riccardo Drigo, and Prinz von Oldenburg, performed by the Boston Ballet Orchestra. The narrative follows a beautiful maiden, a wealthy aristocrat determined to add her to his harem, and a dashing pirate even more resolved to save her. Based on Marius Petipa's 19th-century classic, Liška's version of Le Corsaire was created for the Bavarian State Ballet in 2007. Liška enlisted the assistance of dance historian Doug Fullington to decipher the choreography from its original Stepanov dance notation, which is housed in Harvard University Library's Theatre Collection. Le Corsaire will run from October 27 to November 6, 2016 at the Boston Opera House.
