Brooklyn Music Venue National Sawdust Releases Complete Lineup for Inaugural Season

Composer Paola Prestini, the Creative and Executive Director of National Sawdust (NS), today announced programming for the non-profit's inaugural fall season in its new home-a $16 million, 13,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art chamber hall in the heart of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The performance and recording venue, designed by Brooklyn-based architecture firm Bureau V in the shell of century-old former sawdust factory, will provide composers and musicians a setting in which they can flourish, and a place where they are given commissioning support, mentoring and other critical resources essential to create, and then share, their work. For audiences-serious fans and casual listeners alike-the venue will be a place to discover genre-spanning music at accessible ticket prices.

Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss today announced the schedule for Lincoln Center's sixth White Light Festival, running from October 14 through November 22, 2015. The multidisciplinary Festival, which takes its name from a quotation by the Estonian composer Arvo Part, is focused on the remarkable power of art to reveal the many dimensions of our interior lives. Spanning numerous musical traditions, genres, and disciplines, the Festival will offer 26 performances and events, featuring one world and five U.S. premieres and debuts by artists and companies from the United States, the U.K., Croatia, Belgium, France, and Ireland. Other Festival components include pre- and post-performance artist discussions, a panel discussion, film, and the popular post-performance White Light Lounges, where performers and audience members can gather.

The North Shore Civic Ballet (NSCB), a nonprofit dance company based in Marblehead, Massachusetts, has been selected to perform in the José Mateo Theatre Dance Company Presents 7th Annual Dance for World Community Festival. The NCSB will perform today, June 13 at 5:20 p.m. at Massachusetts Avenue between Remington and Bow Streets at Harvard Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The curtain comes down on Pacific Northwest Ballet's 42nd season with its annual Season Encore Performance, a crowd-pleasing reprise of some of PNB's greatest hits. An evening of thrilling selections and inspired performances, the program will feature PNB's entire Company, along with the mighty PNB Orchestra (now celebrating its 25th Anniversary) under the baton of Music Director/Principal Conductor Emil de Cou. The evening also celebrates the extraordinary careers of PNB's departing dancers with George Balanchine's Serenade and selections from his Jewels, the local premiere of a work by former PNB Company member Andrew Bartee, a sneak preview of Jessica Lang's The Calling(to be presented as part of PNB's 2015-2016 season) and others. The Season Encore Performance will be presented one night only, Sunday, June 7 at 6:30 pm at McCaw Hall, 321 Mercer Street at Seattle Center.
