SF Opera Lab presents three performances of Francis Poulenc's 1958 monodrama La Voix humaine (The Human Voice) starring internationally acclaimed sopranoAnna Caterina Antonacci with pianist Donald Sulzen on March 11, 14 and 17, 2017. In these rare appearances outside of Europe, Antonacci will perform "Elle," the distraught character at the heart of the opera and one of the soprano's most celebrated portrayals, along with a program of French art songs in the intimate, 299-seat Dianne and Tad Taube Atrium Theater at the Diane B. Wilsey Center for Opera.

 Due to overwhelming demand, Sarasota Opera is pleased to announce a 12th performance of Puccini's Madama Butterfly has been added for Sunday, March 12th at 7:30pm. Since the opera opened on February 11th, every performance has been a sell-out with limited ticket availability for upcoming performances.

SF Opera Lab presents composer Ted Hearne's universally acclaimed digital-age oratorio The Source, drawn from the contents of Chelsea Manning's WikiLeaksrelease and called 'some of the most expressive socially engaged music in recent memory-from any genre" by Pitchfork. Previously performed in New York City and Los Angeles, the six performances of The Source on February 24-26 and March 1-3, 2017 at the Dianne and Tad Taube Atrium Theater open Season Two of San Francisco Opera's SF Opera Lab programming.

The Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra and Music Director Larry Rachleff welcome acclaimed pianist Robert Levin for a return engagement at The VETS. Levin is joined by his wife, renowned pianist Ya-Fei Chuang, and the Orchestra for Poulenc's Concerto for Two Pianos.

For the first time, Sarasota Opera and the Sarasota chapter of the Alliance Francaise will partner to present a free program entitled "Dialogues of the Carmelites: Beyond the Stage" today, February 15th at 7pm in the Kamlet Library at the Sarasota Opera House.

Sarasota Opera announced its 2017/18 Fall and Winter Festival Season today at a press conference held on the Sarasota Opera House main stage in Sarasota, FL. The event was overseen by Maestro Victor DeRenzi, artistic director and principal conductor, and Richard Russell, Executive Director.

Thrilling music, exciting new voices, and compelling theater will launch Sarasota Opera into its 58th Winter Festival Season on Saturday, February 11th, 2017. This will be the company's first season in 28 years to not include any operas by Giuseppe Verdi.

Cantata Singers Chamber Series continues on January 20, 2017 at 7:30pm with a program of music by Lazar Weiner and Kurt Weill at the Academy of Arts and Sciences in Cambridge.

Hailed as "one of the great amateur choruses of our time (New York Today) for its "full-bodied sound and suppleness (The New York Times)," The Dessoff Choirs turns the church into a petit Paris with an all-French program that puts the spotlight on the brilliant French Impressionists of music: Marcel Dupre, Claude Debussy, Lili Boulanger, Reynaldo Hahn, Jean Langlais, and Francis Poulenc. Joined by accompanist Steven Ryan (celebrating his 20th anniversary season with Dessoff) and Dr. Raymond Nagem, Associate Organist at the Cathedral of St John the Divine, Dessoff presents a magnifique tribute to French composers and to the majeste of the organ. 

The Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts continues its 2016-2017 Recital Series with a performance by the winner of the 2010 Young Concert Artists International Auditions, clarinetist Narek Arutyunian, in Raitt Recital Hall at Pepperdine University at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2017.

Soprano Jenny Hayden will perform a program of German lieder, French chansons and operatic arias on Hoff-Barthelson Music School's HB Artist Recital Series on Sunday, February 12, 2017, at 5:00 pm at the Greenville Community Church, 270 Ardsley Road, Scarsdale. Joining Ms. Hayden will be fellow Hoff-Barthelson faculty member, pianist Helene Jeanney.
