On Friday, March 5 a celebrity event was held at the Baldwin Hills mall on Crenshaw Blvd in Los Angeles where Magic Johnson and Steve Harvey made appearances with Actress Juliette Fairley for the Oscar Awards weekend.

The 41st annual NAACP Image Awards were held on Friday, February 26 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. Amongst the winners were the film 'Precious' which picked up the award for Best Motion Picture, Morgan Freeman won for his role in 'Invictus' and Gabourney Sibide garnered Best Actress for her leading role in 'Precious'. The ceremony was hosted by NAACP Image Award nominee and Tony Award winner Anika Noni Rose and bestselling author and actor Hill Harper. As previously announced, Tyler Perry, received the Chairman's Award, and Wyclef Jean received the Vanguard Award.
