Elaine Paige Joins FOLLIES on Broadway; Tickets on Sale

Elaine Paige will return to Broadway joining Bernadette Peters, Jan Maxwell, Danny Burstein and Ron Raines in the Broadway transfer of the Kennedy Center's acclaimed production of James Goldman and Stephen Sondheim's FOLLIES, directed by Eric Schaeffer, with choreography by Warren Carlyle and music direction by James Moore.

After a 35-week national tour, the beloved Berenstain Bears will be coming to life in New York City for a limited summer engagement! The Berenstain Bears LIVE! in Family Matters, the Musical will open on July 3 and run through September 4, 2011 at the Manhattan Movement and Arts Center (MMAC), 248 West 60 Street between Amsterdam and West End Avenue. The Berenstain Bears LIVE! in Family Matters, the Musical is presented by Matt Murphy Productions.

Tickets are now on sale for MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, the 2010 Tony nominated Best Musical, at its new home at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street). The production will resume performances Thursday, July 28.

As previously announced, The Kennedy Center's all-new, critically-acclaimed production of James Goldman and Stephen Sondheim's FOLLIES will transfer to Broadway this summer. FOLLIES will play a limited engagement at the Marquis Theatre, with performances beginning on August 7. It has just been announced that from the Kennedy Center all-star production, Bernadette Peters, Jan Maxwell, Danny Burstein and Ron Raines will be transferring with the production. Other members of the Broadway company will be announced shortly.

As previously reported, The Kennedy Center's all-new, critically-acclaimed production of James Goldman and Stephen Sondheim's Tony Award-winning musical FOLLIES will transfer to Broadway this summer. FOLLIES will play a limited engagement at the Marquis Theatre, with dates to be announced shortly. Rehearsals, it has just been revealed, will begin on August 7, 2011. While an official casting announcement is forthcoming, including a detail of those who will be transferring with the production, a casting notice out today indicates that the roles of Salange La Fitte (played in the Kennedy Center by Régine), Hattie Walker (Linda Lavin), and Theodore Whitman (Terrence Currier) are open. Linda Lavin's departure was reported last week upon the announcement that she would simultaneously be starring in THE LYONS at the Vineyard Theatre.

The $7.3 million production, with book by James Goldman and music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, concludes in its final sold-out week in a highly successful six-week run in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater today. The musical features a cast of 41 and is directed by Eric Schaeffer with choreography by Warren Carlyle and music direction by James Moore, who also conducts the 28-piece Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra.
