Ballet Memphis, under the artistic direction ofDorothy Gunther Pugh, will return to New York City's Joyce Theater (175 Eighth Avenue) for the first time since 2007 for a limited run this October.  Performances begin Tuesday, October 27th and run through Sunday, November 1st.  Tickets start at $10.

When compared to SUNSET BOULEVARD, which follows the same classic film-to-stage pedigree as SINGIN' IN THE RAIN and tackles the same dilemma of making the transition from silent films to talkies in the 1920s - albeit of psychological melodrama in genre compared to the latter's rollicking parody - SUNSET BOULEVARD had big stars of stage and screen who headlined West End and Broadway. SINGIN' IN THE RAIN did not delve into such stunt casting from the onset - unless you consider Tommy Steele, who originated the role of Don Lockwood in the West End, as big as Elvis Presley or Gene Kelly, the silver screen's original Lockwood.

Superlative acting, intense staging, and timeless themes are the hallmarks of THE NEW ELECTRIC BALLROOM, Enda Walsh's 2010 Obie Award-winning play now receiving its New England Premiere at Gloucester Stage Company under the direction of Interim Artistic Director Robert Walsh. Its setting in a small fishing village on the west coast of Ireland permeates the story with indigenous peculiarities, but resonates with the realities of life in any little coastal community where gossip and fish tales are the order of the day.

Elvis Presley's Graceland has announced an exciting lineup of events for Elvis Week 2015 at Graceland in Memphis, Tenn. Held August 8-16, Elvis Week is an annual gathering of friends and fans from around the world celebrating the life and legacy of the King of Rock 'n' Roll. It has become a global pop-culture phenomenon and an annual pilgrimage for tens of thousands of music lovers from around the world.

Elvis Presley – aka “The King,” Tupelo's most famous favorite son and Memphis' most revered musical icon – sure had a lot of music in his catalogue of hits, and it seems that almost  all of it is included in the score of All Shook Up, the jukebox musical now onstage at Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre through August 30. Cabaret star Steve Ross will debut STEVE ROSS ON BROADWAY: Songs He's Always Wanted To Sing and Songs You've Always Wanted to Hear at Birdland Jazz Club on Monday, July 7th at 7pm. Mr. Ross' very special guest star will be International icon Liliane Montevecchi, featuring Jesse Bielenberg on bass. In celebration of the smash-hit musical MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET's 1,000th performance on the Las Vegas Strip this August, local non-profit Opportunity Village's Village Blend vocal group will join the cast onstage for a special encore performance on Tuesday, Aug. 4 at 7 p.m. in the Harrah's Las Vegas Showroom. Members of Village Blend will take the stage for a one-night-only performance of Carl Perkins' legendary tune 'Blue Suede Shoes' alongside the talented cast during the finale.
