On Tuesday, October 2nd at 9 am EDT, a limited number of tickets will go on sale at littlekidsrock.org/tickets for the Right to Rock Celebration - a charity benefit for Little Kids Rock that will feature performances of Steven Van Zandt's music by an epic lineup including Elvis Costello, Dion DiMucci, Tom Morello, Darlene Love, Southside Johnny, Kris Allen, Ruben Blades, Gary U.S. Bonds, Michael Des Barres, Michael Johns, Jesse Malin, Jake Clemons, NYC Hit Squad and other surprise guests expected to attend. Before Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band finish the second U.S. leg of its world tour, many of its members will attend Little Kids Rock's 10th anniversary Right to Rock Celebration, sponsored by the House of Marley and 1Love. On October 16th in New York city Steven Van Zandt will be presented with the 'Big Man of The Year Award,' given annually to honor the legacy of the late, great Clarence Clemons. Van Zandt joins past honorees Lady Gaga and The Big Man himself. The event is being co-chaired by actress Maureen Van Zandt and E Street Band drummer Max Weinberg.

On October 4 at 7 PM, world-renowned, classically trained German cabaret singer and Broadway star Ute Lemper will debut a new, original song cycle inspired by the love poems of 20th century Chilean poet Pablo Neruda (1904-1973). Conceived and composed by Lemper herself in collaboration with Marcelo Nisinman, Ute Lemper Sings Pablo Neruda will continue at Joe's Pub throughout the month of October with dates on October 4, 5, 6, 30 and 31. A free community event takes place in the afternoon with a screening of the documentary film JOYOUS GARDE, about John Steinbeck's time in Sag Harbor, on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 12 pm - 4 pm. Then later that evening at 8 pm, see Nancy Atlas live in concert. Tickets are $15 per person available at the door.

In a career spanning more than 35 years and more than 250 recordings-including over 40 albums of his own-the guitarist, composer and bandleader has established himself as a visionary presence in American music.

Honoring the work and legacy of one of the great jazz composers and collaborators, the Music Institute of Chicago presents a Billy Strayhorn Festival October 26-28. The festival, presented in partnership with Billy Strayhorn Songs Inc., a family corporation of the Strayhorn heirs, includes two star-studded concerts featuring trumpet great Terell Stafford and a screening of the award-winning film Billy Strayhorn: Lush Life followed by a panel discussion. The festival takes place at Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Avenue, Evanston.

The producers of FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 smash hit movie that defined a generation, have just announced that the production will arrive on Broadway in August 2013 with a theater, dates and casting to be announced.
