Kelly McCormick Joins Surflight Theatre's LES MISERABLES as 'Fantine,' Begin. 7/31

Surflight Theatre, under the leadership of Executive Director Ken Myers, announced today that Kelly McCormick will play 'Fantine' in their upcoming production of Alain Boublil & Claude-Michel Schonberg's LES MISERABLES. Sarah Joy Kane has also joined the company as a member of the ensemble. LES MISERABLES makes its long awaited Long Beach Island debut at Surflight Theatre, from July 31 through August 24. Opening night is August 1 at 8pm.

The NATIONAL NEW PLAY NETWORK (NNPN), the country's alliance of non-profit theaters that champions the development, production, and continued life of new plays, announces its 35th Rolling World Premiere: Steve Yockey's Pluto will receive three productions through the Network's Continued Life of New Plays Fund in the 2013/14 season. Pluto will begin its Rolling World Premiere at Actor's Express (Atlanta, GA, November 16 - December 8, 2013), followed by performances at Forum Theatre (Washington, DC, February 20 - March 15, 2014) and Orlando Shakespeare Theatre (Orlando, FL, February 27 - March 23, 2014).

Today, Nov. 14, Wagner College Theatre opens its Main Stage production of "Legally Blonde: The Musical," with book by Heather Hach and music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin. The musical is based on the novel by Amanda Brown and the 2001 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer motion picture starring Reese Witherspoon. The show runs tonight, Nov. 14-17, takes a break for Thanksgiving week, and has its concluding run Nov. 28 through Dec. 2.

The Ambassador Theatre Group's Lyceum Theatre in London hosted a special drinks reception to mark the Centenary Year of Bram Stoker's death on Friday, April 20. Celebrated Dracula historian Elizabeth Miller and members of the Stoker family flew in from the US for the event, where members of the Dracula Society, in conjunction with The Lyceum Theatre, raised a toast to the celebrated writer in the venue where he wrote the infamous Dracula.
