THE LEAGUE OF OFF-BROADWAY THEATRES AND PRODUCERS today announced the nominations for THE 23rd ANNUAL LUCILLE LORTEL AWARDS FOR OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT OFF-BROADWAY, which will be presented on Monday, May 5th at the Union Square Theatre (100 East 17th Street).

The American Theatre Wing's 'Working in the Theatre' will showcase 'Featured Actors' on CUNY TV on Sunday, January 20 at 5 p.m. The program will repeat on Friday, January 25 at 9 a.m., 2 and 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, January 26 at 11 a.m. The program becomes available as streaming audio and podcast from www.americantheatrewing.org beginning Wednesday, January 23.

With some of the strongest reviews of the season for a new play, the Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15 Street) has announced a 2-week extension of Julia Cho's play The Piano Teacher starring Elizabeth Franz, now set to play through December 23.

God's Ear - Jenny Schwartz's new play that was developed by The Vineyard Theatre and debuted at New Georges earlier this year - will return to The Vineyard as the company's third mainstage production of the 2007-08 Season, with previews set to begin in early April, it has been announced by Douglas Aibel, artistic director of The Vineyard Theatre.

The Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street) will kick off a series of special anniversary readings November 11-12 with Polly Pen and Peggy Harmon's Goblin Market - the critically acclaimed chamber musical which was the first show to transfer commercially from a run at The Vineyard Theatre - featuring the musical's two original stars, Terri Klausner and Ann Morrison. Evan Yionoulis will direct.

Opening the Tony Award-winning Vineyard Theatre's 2007-08 Season will be the Off-Broadway premiere of The Piano Teacher, a new play by Julia Cho, author of Durango, with previews to begin October 30, prior to its official press opening November 18 at The Vineyard Theatre (108 East 15th Street). Williamstown Theatre Festival ends season with a well-acted but only partially satisfying production of Lillian Hellman's 'The Autumn Garden'

The Festival will premiere The Prophet Muhammad, an original work developed in the leapFROG program.
