Commonwealth Shakespeare Company to Debut CSC2 with ROMEO & JULIET

Commonwealth Shakespeare Company (CSC) announces the inaugural production for its CSC2 ensemble--Shakespeare's universal and timeless love story Romeo & Juliet--at The Strand Theatre, 543 Columbia Road in Dorchester. Community performances are Friday, May 29, 7:30 p. m.; and Saturday, May 30 at 2:00 p. m. (ASL Interpreted), with an Open House with tours of The Strand and free workshops starting at 12:30 p.m. All tickets are $5. For more information, visit commshakes.org or call 617 426-0863. Happy Medium Theatre starts its sixth season by ending the run of the Factory Theatre with LANGUAGE OF ANGELS, a testament to the ambience and creative possibilities of the soon-to-be-defunct space. Director Lizette M. Morris does a masterful job of building and prolonging the suspense, with a strong assist from her design team and ensemble cast.

Morris (DOG SEES GOD: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead, HMT, Elliot Norton Award Outstanding Fringe Production). The production runs for two weeks (today, October 23rd - Nov. 1st, 2014) as the final show at the Factory Theatre, 791 Tremont Street, Boston, MA, 02118.

Boston College Theatre Department to Present THREE SISTERS, 11/21-24

The Boston College Theatre Department continues its 2013-2014 season with an exciting, non-traditional production of Anton Chekhov's Three Sisters. The production will be directed by guest artist, David R. Gammons, the Theatre Department's Rev. J. Donald Monan, S.J. Professor in Theatre Arts for the Fall 2013 semester. The Boston College Theatre Department concludes its year-long celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Robsham Theater Arts Center with an exciting new production of William Shakespeare's classic comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream. Directed by BC Adjunct Associate Professor of Theatre Luke Jorgensen, the production takes inspiration from the romance and spectacle of Bollywood movies, and shifts the action from Shakespeare's mythical Athens to an equally mythical colonial India--complete with fairies inspired by Indian deities, elaborate costumes, and big Bollywood dance sequences. Performances will take place on Robsham's Mainstage tonight, April 26 through April 29, 2012 as part of the 14th annual Boston College Arts Festival.

The Boston College Theatre Department continues the 30th anniversary season of the University's Robsham Theater Arts Center with its second workshop production: Aristophanes's classic comedy Lysistrata, in a new translation by Sarah Ruden. Directed by BC senior Theatre major Alex Lucci, the production will be presented February 22-25, 2012 in the Robsham's Bonn Studio.
