FREUD'S LAST SESSION Features 'Great Debate' Talkback Discussion, 4/1

FREUD'S LAST SESSION will feature Love, Sex, the Meaning of Life and the Existence of God, a special talkback discussion with Dr. Timothy Larsen, McManis Professor of Christian Thought at Wheaton College, and Dr. Christopher Nissen, Professor of Italian and advisor to the Atheists, Agnostics, and Free Thinkers group at Northern Illinois University, on Sunday, April 1 following the 1 p.m. performance at the Mercury Theater (3745 N. Southport) in Chicago.

Christopher Durang, Edward Albee and Shakespeare Set for McCarter Theatre Center 2012-13 Season, Princeton

A new Chekhov-inspired play by Christopher Durang, an Edward Albee classic, and one of Shakespeare's late romances directed by Rebecca Taichman will be produced at McCarter Theatre Center during the 2012-2013 season. Two more productions will be announced at a later date.

Southport, Chicago), making its Midwest Premiere previewing March 21, opening March 26 at 7:30pm and running through June 3. FREUD'S LAST SESSION won the 2011 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Play.

DANNY & SYLVIA to Close at St. Luke's, 4/27

"DANNY and SYLVIA: THE DANNY KAYE MUSICAL", the long-running musical at St. Luke's Theatre, 308 West 46th Street, which opened May 13, 2008, will close on Friday, April 27th after a special added performance at 1 PM. The musical would have celebrated its 3rd anniversary this May.

MAMMA ROMA to Conclude Cherry Lane Theatre's MENTOR PROJECT 2012

A new play about the late Italian actress Anna Magnani, MAMMA ROMA -- written and performed by Anne DeSalvo, winner of the Obie Award for her performance in GEMINI -- will be presented by Cherry Lane Theatre's MENTOR PROJECT from April 3 to 14 at Cherry Lane Studio Theatre (38 Commerce St.) in Manhattan. MAMMA ROMA is directed by Rob Urbinati. David Rambo (THE LADY WITH ALL THE ANSWERS) has been Ms. DeSalvo's mentor for the play.

The Chicago debut of FREUD'S LAST SESSION stars the original New York cast: Mark H. Dold as C. S. Lewis and Martin Rayner as Sigmund Freud. Winner of the 2011 Off Broadway Alliance Award for Best Play,FREUD'S LAST SESSION is currently in its second smash year at NYC's New World Stages (340 West 50th Street) and stars George Morfogen and Jim Stanek.

POOR LITTLE LULU, Matthew Earnest's play, which is getting its world premiere at Cleveland Public Theatre where it is being produced in association with The Lunar Stratagem, is a classic Theatre of the Absurd creation. The absurd movement, which was at its high during the turbulent mid-to-late twentieth century, centered on the existential question, "why do we exist?" Plays by Edward Albee and Eugene Ionesco put individuals in absurd situations, where the ridiculousness and horrors of life, and of the decisions made, were paramount.
