Jonathan Leshnoff's MONICA SONGS Tour Opens this Sunday at U.C. Berkeley

Baltimore-based composer Jonathan Leshnoff's newest commissioned work, Monica Songs, featuring soprano Jessica Rivera and pianist Robert Spano, will receive its world premiere performance on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at U.C. Berkeley. The performance launches the five-city tour of this work, which also includes performances on Oct. 17 at Bailey Hall, Atlanta, Oct. 20 at Smothers Theatre, Malibu, Calif., Oct. 26 at Memorial Hall, Cincinnati and culminates in a performance on Oct. 29 at Zankel Hall at Carnegie Hall, New York. Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane, celebrates 30 years of producing critically-acclaimed musicals and plays with its stellar 2014-2015 season. The internationally celebrated musical LES MISERABLES previews March 29, opens April 8, and runs through June 8; the smash hit Tony Award-winning musical comedy THE 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE previews June 19, opens June 26, and runs through August 17; the clever and suspenseful new play THE GAME'S AFOOT previews August 28, opens September 4 and runs through October 19; the legendary Broadway musical CAMELOT previews October 30, opens November 6 and runs through January 4, 2015; and the musical phenomenon WEST SIDE STORY previews January 15, opens January 22, and runs through March 15, 2015.

Guillotine Theatre to Bring TALES OF MYSTERY AND THE IMAGINATION to Ivy Hill Cemetery, 10/17-19

For the past 15 years, Guillotine Theatre (formerly The Georgetown Theatre Company) has presented readings from the works of Edgar Allen Poe at Grace Church, in Georgetown. Last year, the troupe also performed at the Athenaeum, an historic building in Old Town Alexandria. This year, they have been invited to perform in an empty burial vault in historic Ivy Hill Cemetery, in the Rosemont district of Alexandria. The two Alexandria events are called Tales of Mystery and the Imagination, NOT Halloween in Georgetown.

Unbound Productions Co-Artistic Directors Jonathan Josephson, Paul Millet, and Jeff G. Rack have announced the line-up for the 5th Anniversary Production of the popular horror story adaptation series WICKED LIT that will take place at Mountain View Mausoleum and Cemetery in Altadena, California. The production will run from today, October 4-November 2, 2013 and feature world premiere adaptations of H.P Lovecraft's The Lurking Fear and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The New Catacomb as well as a revival of Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.

Parson's Nose Theater, led by Producing Artistic Director, Lance Davis, presents its 14th Season of classical adaptations beginning tonight, September 28th with The School for Scandal by Richard Brinsley Sheridan, followed by Classics that go Bump in the Night with works by Poe, Benet, and Jackson, The Middle Class Nobleman by Moliere, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, As You Were: Stories for American GI's in WWII by Twain, Dana, Parker and Whitman, The Algonquin Round Table by Parker, Benchley, Thurber, and Friends, The Seagull by Anton Chekhov, and concludes with Little Sophie's Misfortunes: A Cautionary Tale by Comtesse de Segur.

North American Premiere of GRAND GUIGNOL Set for San Francisco's Z Space, 10/30-11/3

Andrade Events and Ottoman, Ltd. are proud to announce the North American premiere ofGRAND GUIGNOL, a horror play by Carl Grose, inspired by the Theatre du Grand Guignol and naturalistic horror stage shows that were all the rage in London and Paris in the early 20th century. Directed by Mitchell Altieri, GRAND GUIGNOL will play at Z Space (450 Florida Street, San Francisco) Wednesday, October 30 through Sunday, November 3, 2013. Rife with madness and murders, maiming and mutilation including jaw-dropping special effects and a dose of humor and satire - GRAND GUIGNOL creates the perfect Halloween experience - complete with food and drink - for a bloody good time. Scenery is designed by Charlie Smith, costumes by Thomas Marquez, lighting by Pamela Z. Gray and hair and make-up by Shae Smoot. Performances are Wednesday, October 30 through Sunday, November 3 at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. There is a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. Seating options for the GRAND GUIGNOL range from "splatter zone" seats to "shock boxes" that feature a VIP experience including a pre-show dinner, unlimited champagne and Grand Guignol signature cocktails. There will be a special Halloween themed package available on October 31 that will include an after party at Inner Mission (2050 Bryant Street, San Francisco). Tickets ($15 to $195) go on sale Tuesday, October 1 and may be purchased at www.GrandGuignolSF.com.
