Four-time Tony Award winner Tom Stoppard returns to the Alley with Rock ?n' Roll, winner of London Critics' Circle Theatre Award for Best New Play.
It's August 1968, and Russian tanks are rolling into Prague. Jan, the Czech student, lives for rock music, Max, the English professor, lives for Communism, and Esme, the flower child, is high. By 1990, the tanks are rolling out, the Stones are rolling in and idealism has hit the wall.

Roll, a sweeping and passionate drama about love, music and revolution from Academy Award and four-time Tony Award-winner Tom Stoppard. For the play?s Chicago premiere at Goodman Theatre, Artistic Director Robert Falls taps director Charles Newell, whose reputation for directing acclaimed Stoppard productions precedes him. Newell?s cast of 12 is led by Stephen Yoakam and Chicago favorites Timothy Edward Kane and Mary Beth Fisher, who explore the unique intersection of politics and art against the background of John Culbert?s rock concert-inspired set design?complete with a floor resembling the cover art of Barrett?s solo album, Madcap Laughs. Rock ?n? Roll will be performed in the Albert Theatre May 2 ? June 7, 2009. Tickets are $25 ? $75. David Leveaux will direct a cast including Samantha Bond, Nancy Carroll, Jessie Cave, Neil Pearson, Dan Stevens and Ed Stoppard in a new production of Tom Stoppard's multi award-winning play Arcadia. Previewing at the Duke of York's Theatre from 27 May, with press night on 11 June, Arcadia is currently booking until 12 September 2009. Set designs are by Hildegard Bechtler, costume design is by Amy Roberts, lighting is by Paul Anderson and sound is by Simon Baker. Arcadia will be presented in the West End by Sonia Friedman Productions, Robert G. Bartner and Roger Berlind.

Tom Stoppard's Arcadia is to be revived this summer at the West End's Duke of York's Theater. The show will be directed by David Leveaux and include a cast lead by Ed Stoppard, the author's son. Along with Stoppard, the cast will also include Neil Pearson, Dan Stevens, Nancy Carroll and Jessie Cave.

'On The Rocks', which stars Ed Stoppard and Tracy-Ann Oberman as DH Lawrence and his wife Freida, has extended its limited run by one week at the Hampstead. 'On The Rocks' will now close on 2 August. Tickets for the added performances are already available.
