After eight films that have amassed almost $5 billion worldwide, the Fast & Furious franchise now features its first stand-alone vehicle as Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham reprise their roles as Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw.

The Naples Players (TNP) present their FREE annual Shakespeare-on-the-Plaza with the classic comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream, which runs every Saturday and Sunday, February 16 - March 10, 2019 outside on the Baker Stage in The Naples Players Sugden Plaza.

David F. Sandberg (“Annabelle: Creation”) directs New Line Cinema's “Shazam!,” the origin story that stars Zachary Levi (TV's “Chuck”) as the titular DC Super Hero, along with Asher Angel (TV's “Andi Mack”) as Billy Batson, and Mark Strong (the “Kingsman” movies) in the role of Super-Villain Dr. Thaddeus Sivana. Peter Safran (“Aquaman,” “The Conjuring” and “Annabelle” films) serves as the film's producer.

According to Deadline, actor Danny Glover is set to join Sony's sequel to the hit JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE. The film is welcoming back cast members Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillian, as well as director Jake Kasdan. Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures (MGM) announced today acclaimed stage director Liesl Tommy, the first black woman to earn a Tony Award nomination for Best Direction of a Play, is set to direct Respect, a feature film based on the life of music icon Aretha Franklin. As previously announced, Academy Award, Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild, BAFTA and Grammy Award winner Jennifer Hudson was personally handpicked by Ms. Franklin to portray her on the big screen.  Academy Award and Golden Globe winner Callie Khouri (Thelma & Louise, creator of Nashville) will pen the screenplay following the rise of Ms. Franklin's career, from a child singing in her father's church's choir to an iconic and international superstar. The announcement was made today by Jonathan Glickman, President, Motion Picture Group.

The 50th NAACP Image Awards will air LIVE on TV One, a division of Urban One, Inc., on March 30, 2019. For the first time ever, the telecast will take place from the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California. The announcement was made today by NAACP National Board of Directors Chairman Leon W. Russell, NAACP President and CEO Derrick Johnson, Chief Executive Officer, Urban One, Inc. & Chairman/CEO, TV One Alfred Liggins and TV One General Manager Michelle Rice.
