American Repertory Ballet will perform in New Jersey Performing Arts Center's second annual Jersey Moves! Festival of Dance. The performance will be tonight, April 27, 2013 at 7:30pm at NJPAC's Victoria Theater. ARB will be performing Gerald Arpino's Viva Vivaldi. This charming, virtuosic work in the classical ballet vocabulary will share the stage with Irish dance presented by Timothy Kochka and The Davis Academy, Indian dance by Bani Ray and her dancers, tap by New Jersey Tap Ensemble, and contemporary dance by Dance Tactics and Nimbus Dance Works.

Princeton Ballet School, the official school of American Repertory Ballet, will present the full-length classical ballet Swan Lake on May 18, 2013 at the Patriots Theater at the War Memorial in Trenton, NJ. Performances will be at 2:00pm and 7:00pm.

American Repertory Ballet Gala Honors Princeton Ballet School's Maria Youskevitch Tonight

Maria Youskevitch, longtime faculty member at Princeton Ballet School, is one of this year's American Repertory Ballet Gala Honorees, and is the recipient of this year's Audree Estey Award for Excellence in Dance Education. Daughter of one of the leading dancers of the 20th century, Igor Youskevitch, Ms. Youskevitch brings a strong background in and deep knowledge of ballet to her students. She teaches for a variety of levels and, every year, re-stages a full-length classical ballet on Princeton Ballet School students for the School's Spring Production. She has also served as Rehearsal Director for American Repertory Ballet, the professional company associated with Princeton Ballet School, on several occasions.

On April 26, 2013, American Repertory Ballet will present "All About Pointe Shoes," an On Pointe Enrichment Series event. This lecture-demonstration will cover the ins and outs of pointe shoes from brand and material choices to fitting and personal customization tricks from ARB's ballerinas. "All About Pointe Shoes" will be held at 5:15 PM in the Princeton Studio, at 301 North Harrison Street, Princeton, NJ in the Princeton Shopping Center, above McCaffrey's Supermarket.

Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, a National Historic Landmark, home to America's longest-running dance festival, and recipient of the National Medal of Arts, will present American Repertory Ballet as part of its Festival 2013 Inside/Out performance series on August 16 at 6:15pm on the open-air Henry J. Leir Stage, described by The New Yorker as "a breathtaking outdoor stage overlooking the lush Berkshire hills." American Repertory Ballet will perform Patrick Corbin's Follia and Resident Choreographer Mary Barton's Straight Up with a Twist.

The evening will feature ARB Artistic Director Douglas Martin's brand new Rite of Spring, famed Joffrey Ballet choreographer Gerald Arpino's Viva Vivaldi, and contemporary dance choreographer Patrick Corbin's new work, Caress. Audee Estey, a native of Winnipeg, Canada, began teaching in the Princeton area after marrying L. Wendell "Bud"Estey, a teacher at the Lawrenceville School, in 1933. Among her hundreds of students were Meredith Monk, Douglas Dunn, Bebe Neuwirth, Diane Partington, and Jennifer Dunning. She founded Princeton Ballet Society in 1954 (now Princeton Ballet School) and the Princeton Regional Ballet Company in 1963.

On February 22, American Repertory Ballet will present an inside look at its upcoming spring performance season.This On PointeEnrichment Series event, "Spring Repertory Preview", will be held at 5:15pm in the Company's rehearsal studios at Princeton Ballet School (301 North Harrison Street, above McCaffrey's Supermarket). ARB launched its On Pointe series in 2010 to help make ballet more accessible to the community by offering free lecture demonstrations, guest lectures, intimate company performance previews, and panel discussions.
