Festival Of Chaos presented a classic play, THE BACCHAE, up-dated and re-imagined and directed by Royal & Derngate's Artistic Director, Laurie Sansom. Staged in the striking setting of a disused print works in the town centre, The Bacchae runs from Friday 18 May to Saturday 30 June and takes to the Royal stage from Friday 25 May to Saturday 30 June. Festival of Chaos is part of the London 2012 Festival. We have a first look at the production shots below!

Festival Of Chaos opens tonight with BLOOD WEDDING, directed by Royal & Derngate's Artistic Director, Laurie Sansom. Festival of Chaos is part of the London 2012 Festival. Festival Of Chaos opens with two world premieres of two classic plays, both up-dated and re-imagined and directed by Royal & Derngate's Artistic Director, Laurie Sansom. Staged in the striking setting of a disused print works in the town centre, The Bacchae runs from tonight 18 May to Saturday 30 June and Blood Wedding takes to the Royal stage from Friday 25 May to Saturday 30 June. Festival of Chaos is part of the London 2012 Festival.

On May 14, 2012 independent label SimG Records is set to release the Original Cast Recording of A Song Cycle For Soho, a project created for Mercury Musical Developments members to practice their song writing skills, followed by a showcase presented at Soho Theatre during Feb/March 2012.

Irvine Welsh's classic novel Trainspotting, which in 1996 was adapted as both a feature film by Academy Award-winning director Danny Boyle and a play by Harry Gibson, will come to the Chicago stage in October in a new American adaptation of Gibson's play. This new version of Welsh's graphic and uncompromising story of young heroin addicts living in Edinburgh, Scotland has been re-imagined and set in Kansas City, Missouri.

We've all got a little excited recently about the new British musical theatre composers edging through into the mainstream, with Stiles and Drewe's Betty Blue Eyes reaching the West End last year, and Grant Olding, Michael Bruce and Dougal Irvine all getting tons of critical acclaim. BWW:UK's own Robert Gould is the book writer and lyricist for new show My Land's Shore, which is about to have its cast recording released.
