The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) and Executive Director Kathy Evans announced the directors and casts for the eight musicals being presented at its 20th Annual Festival of New Musicals at New World Stages (340 West 50th St) on Monday, October 20 and Tuesday, October 21, 2008. Also, announced were the line-up for this year's Songwriter Showcase happening during the Festival.

The seventh annual Festival, April 12-20, features staged readings of two new musicals, GIRLFRIEND, a bittersweet pop musical from Todd Almond and singer/songwriter Matthew Sweet, and UNLOCK'D, a musical fantasy from Sam Carner and Derek Gregor, based on Alexander Pope's The Rape of the Lock, and two new plays, TOUCH(ED) from playwright and actress Bess Wohl, and Joe DiPietro's fascinating political drama CREATING CLAIRE.

Unlock'd, a new musical comedy presented at the New York Musical Theatre Festival, has just added two performances to its schedule, and will now play a total of eight performances as part of the fourth annual New York Musical Theatre Festival. Performances begin tonight, Monday, September 17 at TBG Theatre. Added performances are Friday, September 21 at 4:30PM and Saturday, September 22 at 1PM.
