The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced a full slate of musical productions, a developmental reading series and special events for their eighth annual festival. This year's Festival will begin September 26th and continue through October 16th.

According to Baz Bamingboye in his Daily Mail UK column, the Weinstein Company is planning a four-week workshop of the new musical, Finding Neverland, this fall in New York. The workshop, directed and choreographed by Rob Ashford is said to star Julian Ovenden as J.M. Barrie and Kelli O'Hara as Sylvia Llewelyn Davies. Bamingboye writes that 'if it works - and Ovenden and O'Hara are available - the Weinsteins will launch a big production for Broadway.'

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced the first wave of invited musicals for its eighth annual festival, which join NYMF's previously announced Next Link Project productions on the 2011 Festival slate. A full breakdown of these seven new musicals follows. The rest of this season's programming, including additional full productions and special events, will be announced in the coming weeks. This year's Festival will begin September 26th and continue through October 16th.

Producer Daryl Roth announced today that "Grease" star and Love, Loss, and What I Wore alumna Didi Conn will join the show again for six performances only, filling in for current cast member Julie Halston from Wednesday, June 8th through Saturday, June 11th, who will be out of the show fulfilling a previous commitment.
